Read the Bottle! It's shelf stable unopened!
The reviews on this product are largely unfair. As long as the bottle is unbroken and sealed, separation is to be expected. Stir it! Refrigerated delivery is unnecessary. In the UK, double cream is often found in the pantry aisles rather than in the chilled dairy (same for eggs). Clotted cream, however, is normally found by the butter. It really depends on the way it's packaged. Please READ the bottle. It clearly says separation is normal and that it has a long shelf life unopened. I attached a picture. That said, no one wants to eat warm cream so I keep mine chilled once delivered because I use it on baked goods. As a very expensive coffee creamer, I suppose warm would be fine - but it's thick. Use double cream as you would whipped unsweetened heavy cream. I spread it on baked goods. Photo 3 shows the product spread on my homemade Eccles cakes. I recently returned from the UK and brought back Rodda's clotted cream. It's a different product. There's a crust on top and it tastes like, well, solid or "clotted" cream. LOL Think light textured butter. No sweet, no salt, no tang, no fatty residue. Photo is attached for comparison purposes. This brand is not vacuum sealed so it requires refrigeration. Oddly enough, I like it less than bottled double or clotted cream. Double cream is like American heavy whipping cream that's been perfectly whipped. In Scotland, there is an even thicker version that's called extra thick double cream. It's exquisite. I haven't found it in the States. I've had this double cream delivered warm and separated. I stirred it up and it was wonderful. I've also bought it in the pantry aisles both in the UK and on site at Whole Foods pre-Amazon acquisition. This time it was delivered chilled by Amazon/Whole Foods. Zero difference. It's outrageously overpriced no matter where you buy it in America. In the UK, it's about £4.

Rancid!
It is true what other reviewers are saying. The 2 bottles I ordered both arrived with leakage and both were so rancid smelling that my fingers that touched the lids only smelled awful despite multiple handwashings with heavily scented soaps.

Devon Cream was spoiled.
When the item was arrived it was left on my stoop. In 90+ degrees weather. The delivery person did not ring the door bell or knock on the door to advise me that the Devon Cream were delivered. When my wife and I placed the Devon Cream into the refrigerator to get cold because the bottles were very warm. After some time had passed (about 4 hours) we sat down to have tea and crumpets. We were very disappointed that the Devon Cream was spoiled, I answered the question that was sent to me by Amazon " how was the delivery?" And the website said that the items were not eligible for return, therefore I am requesting that the 2 bottles of Devon Cream be replaced or a full refund of the purchase price be made.

Yum
Perfect and great with my Christmas pudding.

Plain vanilla taste.
Not really special, just pasty milk to lubricate dry food. Not much taste, vanilla at most. Seems to last in the refrigerator more than five days.

Arrived Damaged
Arrived damaged. Jar was sticky due to product leakage. Security Bubble in the jar lid was popped up, indicative of damage and spoilage.

My favorite! So yummy!
I am on my 5th jar and I absolutely love this stuff I found it near the strawberries and blueberries at Whole Foods in Las Vegas so the jars were perfectly sealed and it was amazing! It's a little expensive as others have noted but I would say it's worth every penny because it's absolutely delicious and anything you make that you put it in elevates it to a whole nother level. It's super thick too.
