Clockers: Richard Price

Price can write a decent genre novel, of that there is no doubt. This was actually a reread for me (first read in mid 90s). What it lacks, I think, is a third narrative strand. The back and forth between the homicide cop and the drug dealer became a little monotonous. Perhaps I was spoilt by the breadth of The Wire, which of course Price was involved in. That said, this is worth a read.

Brilliant book - just like reading a series of the Wire ! Haven't enjoyed a book this much for ages

Excellent book best I read this year Ill be buying more of his books. Reads like an action movie. You genuinly feel for all the characters. The way the chapters alternate between the main characters, you always want to know what happens next. I couldnt put this book down
