Je possède déjà un épilateur Philips (la plus récente génération, la série 9000) et ma fille (jeune adulte, 19 ans) avait commencé à l'utiliser. Pour son anniversaire, elle a demandé à en avoir un à elle. J'ai d'abord pensé lui offrir le même que j'avais, car j'en étais globalement satisfaite, mais j'ai quand même pris le temps de comparer les modèles sur le marché.Elle m'avait mentionné qu'elle trouvait les opérations un peu longues, et j'ai donc voulu voir si des modèles plus larges ne la rendrait pas plus efficace. C'est ce qui m'a amenée à considérer les épilateurs Braun, avec une plus large tête. Mais quelle version choisir, surtout quand on n'est pas familière avec la marque?Spontanément, j'aurais opté pour la version la plus récente, la Silk-épil 9, avec tête pivotante à 360°, car j'aimais le design, la technologie semblait prometteuse et je trouvais que ça faisait un très beau cadeau. Mais les commentaires étaient loin d'être enthousiastes, plusieurs consommatrices indiquant même être revenues à leur ancienne version de Silk-épil. Assez rapidement, je l'ai exclus!Et en lisant les commentaires pour celui-ci, le Silk-épil 7, je constatais que les personnes qui avaient déjà un vieux Braun étaient enchantées d'avoir upgradé pour la version 7. Elle semblait donc faire l'unanimité pour les personnes déjà familières avec la marque, autant celles qui avaient connu d'anciennes versions que celles qui étaient déçues de la 9.C'est donc sur la 7 que mon choix s'est porté et ma fille est ENCHANTÉE de son cadeau. Elle m'indique que l'appareil retire plus de poils non seulement en largeur, mais il faut faire moins de "passes" sur une même zone pour tout retirer. Elle n'a eu aucun enjeu à faire ses deux jambes sur une seule charge. L'ergonomie générale lui convient: ça tient bien en main!Si comme moi, vous vous questionnez sur les qualités relatives des différentes gammes de Braun, sachez que le 7 est bel et bien fidèle à sa réputation!

I’ll try to keep this short but I have so much to say because I want you to try this so bad!!Pain: it’s like having 100 tweezers on one little roller but because it rolls so quickly, in each section of say 50 hairs you only feel a few of the 50 “tweezes.” Amazing. I used to wax my lower legs by myself and I felt every single hair pull so this is an immense improvement with the same benefits. Around my knees and thighs the pain was worse because I didn’t wax there but with a good technique and a distraction, the pain subsides kind of quickly to make this something I could do passively. Doing my armpits SUCKED though. My armpit hairs grow so thick and I’ve only ever shaved so I did consider crying but I know it could’ve been so much worse. I needed help from bf getting upper armpit area so that I didnt nip any skin, it didnt help but could've been user (man) error (or the bumps and nooks and crannies I have there). He was having too much fun.Technique: I bought lidocaine spray, didnt help. My technique was to have a sort of home base patch of skin that I had thoroughly epilated so that I could go back to home base when the pain was too much. Home base > 1 inch up > home base > 3 inches up etc. Having home base to rest the epilator (as it vibrated and still stimulated my skin) was so helpful. Also, the epilator head has kind of massage rollers on it to, again, stimulate the skin before and after tweezing which is very helpful. Without that or home base, I think I would take too many breaks, my skin would calm down and then it would be like starting from scratch again. Once you start you really just have to go for it and you will not regret it.Battery: I think the battery lasted a good amount of time. Two slow lower leg sessions and two slow armpit sessions. I think like others have said, one full body session per charge. As always with a battery, don’t charge it for more than is recommended. Overcharging hurts all batteries big or small.Grip (?): the grip of the tweezers has great reviews. I agree if prep is done correctly! Even if you are not prepping entirely correctly, grip is good for hairs that are visible if your skin is pulled taut enough.I have not tried the other attachments but super cool to have them. I have not tried epilating my hooha yet. I think I’ll have to wait for my bf again or to try a numbing cream. Super easy to clean and change attachments!
