Easy to use protection for your valuable guitars, or anything else which needs a controlled environment.
This device is very simple to use. I downloaded the IOS app to my iPad, removed the plastic battery protector tab and placed the device on the screen. Within a minute or so I had connected and it immediately gave me the first reading of temperature and humidity. As someone who has spent a lot of money on guitars and travels frequently, this unit is going to be invaluable to ensure that I or anyone else causes damage during transit or storage. Of course it isn't just limited to guitars, you can customise the limits and warnings depending upon your needs so I guess this could be used for anything which needs a controlled environment. The impact sensor uses more batteries so it is suggested that it is turned off when not in use, and the sensor will store readings for up to 21 days if you are out of Bluetooth range. It is a lot smaller than I expected (see photos) but this is ultimately a good thing.

Phew! Is it hot in here?
Great way of keeping your expensive guitar in check, it's better to be safe that sorry, keeping the humidity at a constant level in you case and being able to monitor it through an app is a great idea.

Sadly mine was not up to standard ......
I do not know why this is being marketed in its present state of development. I saw the reviews before I bought it and took a chance that it would be OK. I am afraid mine was not.Firstly it took me several attempts to register via the app, no obvious reason why but after a re-install and 2 further attempts the app logged me in. Hurray here we go I thought! No useful instructions but seemed easy enough, pulled the tab out got my phone app in pairing mode and then nothing except re-try, re-try, re-try. So I did numerous times and between each attempt you have to re-set this device which means an awkward task of pulling the battery out waiting a minute then pushing it back as there is no re-set button, black mark that. After about 20 attempts I gave up. Out of interest I could see the phone trying to connect, it would hold the device for 5 /10 seconds then drop the connection. It just would not pair and I see I am not the only person with this problem so back to Richtone Music it goes.Incidentally my iphone 6 pairs quickly with my car and headphones, always spot on, so it's not the phone. So a refund is required; the concept is good but I am going to wait until the Mark 2 version arrives before I try again. Shame but seems this needed a bit more development before it was marketed and perhaps better quality control on the manufacturing side.I regret having to write an adverse post but felt potential buyers need to know my experience. Perhaps you will have better luck?Edit 1. Richtone have been very quick to respond. I have now been sent a Free Post label which is good. Report above amended accordingly.

D'Addario humidity tracker
Well who knew that humidity could be so high in Orkney! As with any new app I became a tad obsessed with checking in on the state of my guitar - I have yet to be notified of any bumps - which apparently my phone will notify me if anything untoward occurs. The app was simple to set up on my iPhone. The interface is easy to use, read and understand.I am not a professional musician and my guitar does not go far from home - I would think this product would be recommended for touring musicians as a means of protecting their instruments from humidity and rough handling.

Good product
Good product. Works well. Going to buy another one as two will give me a better idea of humidity controls with my guitar collection.

Couldn't be simpler or more effective- an essential
Very handy little device that addresses an issue often overlooked when transporting musical instruments. And this is a great little unit- had no problem loading the app, then put the very well made but light device in your instrument case, then monitor the internal conditions directly from your phone. Couldn't be simpler or more effective, as you get all the relevant info you need with the minimum of fuss. Essential really, and once you've used one you won't want to be without it.

Works well
It's not cheap but it's a neat idea and well executed. Downloading and setting up the app is easy (you have to open an account with them but it's not difficult, doesn't cost extra, and you don't have to own up to possessing a super-valuable instrument if you don't want to), then it constantly monitors humidity and (optionally) impact. Please be aware that it requires bluetooth pairing. This has limitations but at least it works (unlike, for example, my security camera which is supposed to send me warnings through the manufacturer's server and never does.)

I have a humid ukulele, in July!
It takes some work to set this humidity tracking device up - involves a smartphone, a Bluetooth connection, a password and some patience - but now I know that there is humidity in my ukulele case. I'd never have guessed, from the sudden heatwave of the past few days, that my uke would be affected.... wow.... Anyway, I now have this knowledge at my fingertips. Yes it takes some effort to set up, you really need some quiet to somehow sort it out without a tantrum. But I think it is a useful idea and the device is wonderfully compact - very good for uke cases.

Product not working
Purchased the Planet Waves Humiditrak - Bluetooth Humidity and Temperature Sensor - PW-HTK-01 and received it in January 2021. After 3 months of usages, the sensor stopped working and gives an inaccurate reading. Disappointed. What is the warranty period?

It works and good support!
I often feel compelled to write reviews because Amazon reviews are really helpful in making a decision to buy or not to buy. I bought Humidtrak about a year ago to monitor the humidity of a classical guitar. After several months the Humidtrak stopped working. The company replaced it--no questions asked. No need to turn in the old. When there were some Bluetooth issues, I got good support. The humidity in the case can differ with the humidity outside the case especially if there are D'Addario packs in the guitar in the case. Years before I had a Spanish guitar crack because it didn't get proper care. Made me a believer. I gave this product 5 stars.I also thought the D'Addario packets worthwhile in the dry winter months in the Northeast, especially in an overheated apartment.
