Mann Filter Spin-on Oil Filter - W940/25

The Audi A4 (along with most german cars) is a persnickety beast. It can be difficult to find the parts and liquids that older audi's require, but amazon has done an amazing job stepping into the auto parts and supplies arena. For the past 4 years I have been running my 1.8T engine car with the Mobil 1 M1-301 Extended Performance Oil Filter, but recently I have made the swap to this Mann-Filter W 940/25 Spin-on Oil Filter. Not only is it less expensive, but Mann along with Mahle and Bosch are OEM suppliers to Audi and provide a superior internal filter structure and material. damn !!! that is the biggest oil filter i've ever seen, and i've done a lot of oil changes on all kinds of cars and motorcycles !!! i would expect this to fit an 18-wheeler truck, not a little 1.8 liter turbo VW engine... Mann filters are what my mechanic recommended for our Mercedes, and i just discovered that this exact filter is currently installed on the 2002 VW passat that we just got !! NICE !!!! as other reviews have said, get this one (larger size then another that also fits) because of a sludge problem that these cars can have... definitely not too big for our Passat, as others have worried about, as i can see the same exact filter in there right now !

Fit quality and finish are what is expected from an OEM supplier. I think the value was great. Spend some time looking into brick and mortar filters and compare them to the OEM equivalent . There is a clear quality difference. Purchased for my new Audi 1.8T build . I purchased a two pack just so there is always a reserve one in a bind.Boxes were a little beat up and very minor scratching on one filter but who looks at filter paint anyway.

I have been using these filters on an Audi S4 and A6, both with the 2.7T engine. The part number cross reference will suggest this does not fit a 2000-2002 S4, but it screws right on. It is slightly longer in length, and adds some extra filtration capacity than the original size filter. Quality German made filter at an attractive price.

If you have a 2001 Passat 1.8t, this is the oil filter you want!!!! I had previously bought one from Car Quest, and was still having issues. I found that there are many oil filters that "fit" this car, but only a few meet the correct specs for the car. This is one! It is much bigger than the one I got from Car Quest, which allows a little more oil to be put into the system, which is great imo. German oil filter for a German car!

Works great on 2007 Dodge Ram Gen 3 hemi 4x4.Adds extra half quart of oil.Better micron rating and filteration than stock filter.

I have been using the Mann 940/25 filter for my 2002 Passat 1.8T. This is an over-sized filter recommended to be used in this engine. Keeps the engine running clean. Use high quality oil (Mobil 0w40, Castrol, Pennzoil, Liqui Moly...etc) to avoid the sludge problem common with this engine. I have been using this filter for the past 40k miles and the car is now at 125k miles and no sign of sludge. Even with his big filter, I never need more than 5 quarts to fill up the tank.

Exactly as advertised, which is exactly what I needed for my 2003 Audi with a 1.8t. The additional bosses on the back to ease removal are very appreciated and this is a high quality product!
