Epilady Legend 5 Cordless Epilator, Hair Removal Device for Women

I bought an Epilady classic model about 30 years ago and never could figure out how to get the coil to pick up my hair. Well this style of epilator is easy to figure out! I can start by saying I bought this knowing I would not have smooth “just like shaving” results as it takes multiple treatments so time and patience is needed. This style of hair removal is best for those who want to remove visible hair but don’t mind their legs feeling like there’s a little stubble. I decided to start during the winter so my legs are ready by summer.My first use was a bit painful as the spinning disks pluck a lot of hairs, but each area gets numb after a minute. I was suprized at how much hair it removed. I am now up to my 4th treatment and this time it was not painful at all and my legs are visibly free of hair. I have allowed about a week between treatments but waited two weeks this time because the longer the hair, the easier it is to remove. I used this on my arms and as I never shave them all of my hair was 90% gone the first use. I’ve also used this on my face on my jawline and upper lip and it worked like a charm as well.I chose this epilator because Epilady has been around for decades and the L5 is the latest and greatest at the time of this review, having the most “tweezers” in one row. I wanted something rechargable so I didn’t have to mess with a cord while using it and didn’t care to use it wet either, my hair is light in color and it helps seeing my hairs being in a well lit area.I admit I am a bit concerned as a few reviewers (per my research) complained of the battery life being poor and not holding a charge over time, so I registered it with Epilady to ensure the one year warranty. If I get a year out of it I will be happy because the cost of this is equivalent to getting my legs waxed just once.

This is great. I’m older and those wild hairs pop up on my face but since they are white I cannot see them. I’m forever checking my chin for hair. Run this over my face and it gets the stragglers. Does not hurt pulls them out. First time I used it my face was a bit bumpy but now no effect other than the hair is gone!!!

I bought this to replace an aging one I've had for years - and this one's is worse than the old one I've got. (My old one is a wired one from Phillips and even on its last legs that one works a million times better than this one). I charged this one (charging was at least fast) and tried it - couldn't get it to remove hair of any length with any kind of efficiency. The motor is slow and weak compared to the Phillips one I'm trying to replace. Definitely returning it & I'll be going back to Phillips for a higher quality replacement. It's slow as heck, but i wouldn't even recommend this one to a masochist who wants to prolong the torture of hair removal since I can't get it to remove hair well enough to be painful.

Not as good as the 4. Seems like the sides are thicker, so it doesn't get everything, and it is too fast, misses some, and breaks some instead of grabbing at the roots. Hair grows back more quickly

This is beyond amazing!I bought the original epilady with coils way back when.... hated it!!! Tore my thin skin up and left red and spotted until it all grew back in 😭But this legend 5 is absolutely LEGEND!CLEAN AND SMOOTHNO TORE UP SKINAND NO REDNESS 🥰Arms, face, legs, literally anywhere.Just pull skin tight where it might get sucked into little roller.... yes i sucked my lip in, but it was my fault 🤣😂🤣I absolutely love this machine❗️❤️❗️

It is good but does not hold up to the standards of the previous models. I have used this brand for years and was always pleased with the quality. This one just doesn't hold up to those standards. It is good but not great. Misses some hairs so you have to repeat area.

I have been epilating my legs and bikini area for more than 40 years. This is just my 3rd epilator during that time. Of course I had to epilate more often initially and it was a bit uncomfortable but it soon became much less uncomfortable and I had to epilate less. My first epilator died unexpectedly and so I had to purchase another. That second epilator lasted me more than 20 years and died suddenly the other day so I purchased this one. These days I don’t need to epilate hardly at all but periodically a stray hair or two show up and so I want to continue epilating. I used this epilator the day after I received it to remove a few hairs that had shown up over the winter months. I love it! This is the best epilator I have had with many more tweezers that do the job quickly. I promise ladies that you won’t be disappointed. This one may be more expensive but is totally worth every penny.

I purchased this and am a bit older and know very little about what people do to maintain their bikini area..this was not something you heard about 50 years ago. I read the directions many times, wondered if I should have bought some kind of shaver instead, which I did try that once years ago and the itching was incredible!Knowing this was tweezers I was nervous, but tried to convince myself, I have my eyebrows threaded, how much worse could it be. I felt like I had to wait almost a week or longer to have the privacy and time to myself to try this and was offered help by a family member. In the interim as I tend to have a good deal of anxiety I lost the directions on the information packet! With help I used this a couple days ago and was quite surprised that the pain was definitely tolerable, (nothing like I expected) and no soreness after ..I did apply some aloe vera gel to my bikini area.I called the company and spoke with a gentleman, who surprisingly made me feel comfortable discussing the issue ( I'm very old school) and he was so kind and offered to send me a manual I could download and print on my computer, which was absolutely the perfect thing I needed and enclosed a short text if I needed anything to feel free to contact the company.So my review is a 2 part review! I was quite surprised and felt very comfortable after using it for the first time. The product was easy to use and so much more gentle for me than I possibly imagined. The design makes it very comfortable to hold in your hand to use, and I felt it was very well made, it exceeded my expectations..I had thought about getting a shaver instead, but the one experience I had with the electric shaver left my bikini area very uncomfortable, itchy beyond belief! I definitely would recommend this product to others!The 2nd part of my review is to tell you of what I thought could be a very embarrassing experience, contacting the company directly and speaking to a gentleman about having lost the directions. This person was so kind, he handled the situation so professionally, and actually made me feel comfortable talking with him and offered to send me an email with a download attached so I could download the manual which was exactly what I needed and was handled so quickly and efficiently making things so simple.I would definitely say the customer service was better than I could possibly imagine, and would send thanks out to the company for having such compassionate, knowledgeable customer service available to work with me. The kindness I was shown was appreciated so very much!
