My physical therapist recommending getting something like this to use to lie on my back for 15 minutes per day in order to get a back stretch, since I use the computer a lot and my arms are in the forward position for extended periods. Get the three-foot length and put your whole spine and head on it, using pillows to cushion your head. It's hard at first, but you get used to it and it gives you a good stretch. You can vary technique by putting your arms out to the side and raising them overhead. You can also do crunches on it. Seems to be effective at opening up the discs in the spine that tend to stick in position over time. Lightweight, attractive, sturdy, effective.

It's both sturdy and forgiving/soft. I use it for my back to target any tight spots. Works well.

Good product for what it is. Very dense foam and does not give any when your achilles is resting on it.

This roller is amazing. I use it to help stretch my back, help relieve pain in muscles that are hurting and it works so well. It hurts to roll on it but the relief afterwards is well worth it. Highly recommend.

This appears to be the kind of foam roller I wanted, but they should really fix the photo color of the purple roller. I thought it was a pinkish purple, but it's Barney purple. I know it may seem like a small thing, but I strongly dislike this hue of purple.
