Smart little game and perfect to teach the kids Chess. Personally I don't have the patience to sit and learn but my 12 and 15 year old have learned and have several times broken this out to challenge a friend... though I am not sure how that went. Nicely made and works well. If you want to play against the computer and know what you're doing, this is a nice option.

I got this chess set for my 8 year old who is learning sporatically interested in learning to play chess. The tutor function is very handy for us as it will tell you if your move is illegal and sometimes question if you are certain about your choice if your move puts other high value pieces of yours at risk. The pieces have a small magnet in their base to help keep them in place which is nice as well.The only downside i see so far is that to register a piece as moving you have to click it down on the board in its starting square, and then click it down onto its ending square. This alone is not an issue but the pressure sensitivity is a bot off, so sometimes it will read a fingertip that grazes a nearby square, or ot will register a single click as a double click which simply undoes the move altogether.Overall is is a nice set for beginners to practice and have some guidance along the way.

I used to play back in high school. I remember the basics but needed a bit of brushing up on the strategy. This was also a great way to get back into the game. It got me back into the mindset you need to be in to really play the game.It's an excellent teaching tool for beginners and anyone who hasn't played and needs to brush up on their skills. They provide you with what I consider to be flash cards. They're like little cheat sheets for each of the pieces. It's a great tool for learning or relearning the game. I also like the fact that it's a nice compact size, it's easy to take store or travel with.

I didn't realize this was smaller when we picked it our for our daughter for Christmas. All the same, it works well and comes with teaching cards which is great.She wants to join the chess club next year and needs to learn to play. While we have taught her the basics, to practice she doesn't always have an opponent that matches her needed skill level.This does solve that problem 90% of the time, there are a few things that are meh, but for the price I'm happy with how it works.Now and then it doesn't register a piece placement and you have to kind go back and forth to get it, but it's not too often.She loves it and its getting play time, can't complain.

I was excited to try out this electronic chess set, but unfortunately, there are a few drawbacks that prevent me from giving it a higher rating. The pieces on the board are quite small, making them difficult for individuals with larger fingers to handle comfortably. Additionally, while the computer-powered opponent is fun to play against, the instructions required to use the board's features can be overwhelming for kids who just want to start playing right away.Overall, I think this chess set has a lot of potential, but its small piece size and learning curve to get all of the features may be too much for some users, particularly children. I'm (not) looking forward to one of the pieces falling off the board and getting sucked up by the vacuum, rendering the toy completely useless.

Great set for my 11-year-old son. He really likes it and it was easy for him to set up. The game cards are nice because they explain the rules and how the pieces work. I got this for him along with a how to play chess book and it was an excellent gift. He really enjoys it!

This chess master electronic chess set is a complete scam. It does not work and does absolutely nothing no matter how many times you are trying to reset it. Complete waste of money. If you need an electronic chess set buy from another brand or better yet just stick to old fashioned no electronics chess sets that are guaranteed to work.

great little set for beginners and experts. We love chess and learning strategies. This helps us play and learn both. The magnets are nice to help keep things in place as they are quite small. It is easy to play on a lap or in hand since it is small enough. The only thing I would like is to have a bag that fits the board and the small bag for the pieces. The box isn't that great for long-term storage and it would be nice to have something different.
