At first, the number of items to unpack and learn about was daunting, but after getting familiar in a few minutes, it all made sense and was simple to proceed with. The design is very thorough and comes with everything you need, down to the finest detail. They even provided a quick start guide that is laminated so any drips of water won’t ruin it. One tip I figured out is to use the little domes upside down filled with water to soak your seeds. And place all the domes side by side in one bowl to protect them while soaking, and remember to label them around the bowl while soaking. This keeps the varieties separately identified and safe. The price for everything that you get is very economical and inexpensive. I also figured out after the first day, to power it up at a time that is in sync with real sunrise so that the plants will get some darkness while the natural sun is down. Also, the vegetable light setting is very bright so setting the 18 hours on during daytime hours is best for less disturbance in the home. I even found a room to keep it in where we don’t live to shut out the brightness. The unit is very very quiet. To hear the pump, you have to put your ear next to the unit and listen carefully. This product is so well designed and made that I can’t be more impressed. And, for the lower price, I am stunned and do very much recommend this to anyone wanting fresh herbs, especially in the winter months as was my reason for hydroponic-ing. Edit: The marker stakes did not fit in the side holes. And the stickers covered too much surface to be useful.

What a waste of money this turned out to be! Of course, you don't know until after the 30 day return window is closed, so I am stuck with this thing. Hopefully I save YOU the same agony I had. I tried seven different herbs in this (4 different herbs to start, and each herb got two cells). Followed the directions and soaked the seeds before planting, then set the light at the suggested height and waited. they all popped up so fast I was shocked!!! However... nothing happened after that - they never got any bigger and the leaves all turned brown and shriveled up. I started over and tried again... SAME THING HAPPENED! Started over again with different herbs - the same thing happened!!! If I am doing something wrong, I'd love to know what it is because I have a green thumb and can make anything grow under normal circumstances. This grow system is junk in my opinion... nothing at all like the pictures depict!!! :(

Wow, I would give this 20 stars if I could!!! I have never had a green thumb and never really had a desire to get into gardening until after purchasing this and seeing what this baby can actually do!!! I started using this just over a month ago. Started with 2-3 seeds in each pod of the following vegetables/herbs: tomatoes- bush cherry (3 pods), basil, jalapeños, parsley, oregano, and cilantro. Within less than a week all 3 tomato pods, the basil, and the jalapeño seeds germinated! The cilantro and oregano didnt make it, and one of the tomato plants got stolen by one of my cats and was never to be seen again (RIP plant), but the rest are doing amazing 6 weeks later! I transplanted one of the tomato plants into a pot that I'm keeping indoors, but its not doing as well as the one I left in the hydroponic system. I am going to fertilize it and see if it perks up. The tomato plant still in the system actually has tomatoes coming in... im amazed that I'm actually growing and producing something!! You need this system especially if you are new to gardening like me and have no clue what you are doing. The instructions are very easy, and if I can do it, you can too!!!!

I’ve had my hydroponic garden for about 6 months, it’s been very good to me. And has been very fruitful in my growing efforts. Makes propagation super easy too! The only reason I give it 4 stars is because… -there are bigger hydroponic systems, the holes on this one are so compact that you can’t really put something in every one. (Great if you’re doing a few things or smaller projects, but my herbs took it over way too quickly) I will likely keep using this one just for propagations. -⚠️my pump has already died. And I’m having a difficult time finding a replacement for this specific one -there are so many little indents and crannies in the inside it’s difficult to wash every corner super well (so getting this algae out after my pump died has been quite the challenge)
