Callow Retail Battery Operated Universal Rotisserie Kit - 36 inch BBQ Rotisserie

Not had the chance to use my Callow Rotisserie yet but I have no worries about its functioning properties. I actually bought it for home garden use after seeing a friend use the same one while we were camping. Ten of us were camping and we had pre arranged to have a big piece of Pork spit roasted on the Saturday evening. My friend turned up with a piece that must have been about eight pound in weight and cooked it using the Callow Rotisserie. The battery operated workings of the spit worked like the meat wasn't even on there. It turned for about 4.5 hours no problem and the outcome was fantastic. For the price this rotisserie is very well made. I have seen a few complaints about this rotisserie not fitting certain BBQ's. Of course its not going to fit all and I'm surprised that some people have marked it down because of this. If you don't want to be drilling into your lovely thousand pound bbq that you only use once or twice a year, make up a couple of T's with 3 x 2 wood and a support beam across the bottom. Attach the brackets to the T's and run the rotisserie like that. Its not difficult to make and your bbq will be safe. All in all its a fantastic product that I expect will last many, many years if looked after properly. Give the battery operated box and all the equipment a wipe down after use and take the batteries out of it when not in use. Wish I had bought one years ago.

Great looking battery operated Rotisserie, I have used it 3 times and food cooked really well. Unfortunately the threads have gone on the srew on handle. this now needs replacing

I've searched for a while to get a rotisserie for my Outback 4 burner BBQ. The one sold by Outback was v expensive and I didn't see why. So I finally went for the Callow model and, first thing to strike me was that it looked more of a professional product than a domestic one: it is very well made, has all the widgets and accessories that you might need (adjustable brackets, couter-weight) and has an impressively effective pair of skewers (the spikes that go into the meat). I fitted it straight away into the BBQ - but to do this, you need to have the pre-drilled holes on the side walls of the BBQ otherwise you will have to drill them yourself. The brackets will fit any hole separation thanks to the slots. The installation was quick and straight forward and the rotisserie started roasting in no time. I still have to find a way of preventing flames to char the meat as fat drips down but other than that, I am very pleased with it so far.

I was quite skeptical prior to receiving my order having seen the wide range of prices on here for spit roasts. Took a little punt on this as was reasonably priced. I haven’t used this entirely as it was designed for, I have retro fitted this to my existing Brick BBQ so can’t comment on the fixing to a free standing BBQ. Motor runs well and have done 3 very long cooks (approx) 10hours on the original two batteries I put in, so very efficient.

I initially had a problem with the motor that was entirely my own fault. The customer service was excellent and very prompt. I like the item very much. The dpi is very heavy duty and robust and the four prong spikes hold very heavy joints. The motor is plenty powerful and turns at just the right speed. I had forgotten the joy of rotisserie chicken. This item is so good I’m buying another.

Makes great tasting food

This is a great rotisserie, very quiet, and easy to use, we did a joint of lamb and a chicken at the same time, lovely, don’t know why we didn’t get one years ago.
