Sharp enough to behave, safe enough to trust....... and how much!!!
This was bought with slicing large joints of meat, and it has proved to be a very sensible addition to the kitchen. The squared tip is different to what I have always used, but to date, has made no difference to how it carves. It feels reassuring, especially when there are extra hands hovering about the worktop. The blade comes nicely sharp and makes light work of carving meat into clean, tidy slices. It does not require much pressure, which is a blessing when hands and wrists are not as strong as they once were. Control is excellent, and the knife feels steady and predictable rather than twitchy.... you don't have to wrestle the joint!!!The handle is comfortable and easy to grip, and makes it easier, even with larger joints. It feels practical rather than flashy, and that suits everyday family cooking perfectly. Cleaning is simple and it is standing up well to regular use.I love the design, and being a shorter carving knife, it fits in the standard drawer tidy. I was so impressed at the quality of this knife and the brand.... I bought another 3, and I don't even need them!

Surprising
I was looking for a good overall carving knife and I wasn't disappointed by this knife. It cut roast beef smoothly, cleanly and thinly. It has cut pork, ham and chicken just as easily. The knife is super sharp, sturdy and durable.I like that the end is not pointed, partly due to the fact I had a very bloody mishap when I dropped a pointed kitchen knife recently on/in my foot.I have also invested in a set of their standard kitchen knives, which are just as good as this knife. With it being Christmas week I have been peeling, dicing, slicing etc all week and this carving knife and the kitchen knife set of the same have held up very well and been a pleasure to work with, with no sign of them needing sharpening as yet.Their standard is surprisingly good given the low price point and I do recommend them.

Converted sceptic
Like others, I was highly dubious that such a cheap knife would be any good. However, also like others, I've had expectations overturned. I needed a new carving knife for Xmas and was tempted by some of the highly rated, but very expensive, options. Deciding to wait until the new year sales to invest, I opted for this to "tide me over". I've now used it over a dozen times and it's great. No sales needed. The rounded tip means no sharp point to stab you when washing up, it glides through turkey, beef, gammon and chicken. (Small bones or gristle instantly surrender). It only loses a star as I found the "soft grip" handle slippery. I thought at first I'd got grease or meat juices on it but I hadn't. It's a problem easily solved with some kitchen roll or a tea towel. I don't know how long it'll last until the edge needs sharpening but for the price I'm not bothered. I accidentally ordered 2 (blame Xmas chaos for the brain fade) but I'm now claiming it as a genius decision. Highly recommended.

Where has this been all my life!!
Absolutely delighted with this knife. Bought it ready for the Christmas joint and I am very impressed - it carves a joint perfectly.I love the length of the knife, the sturdy comfortable handle and the sturdiness of it. I have multiple spinal fractures and too much pressure on my hands and arms also hurts my back. I had none of that with this knife.I don't like knives, but love cooking! so this blunt ended knife makes me feel much more comfortable.Basically, I used to dread carving meat - it used to take me ages and was very painful.I'm looking to get the basic kitchen knife from this range and also the bread knife.Thoroughly recommend.
