Perfect masher. Well made/sturdy. Makes mashing easier. Will last for ever I reckon. Much better than any other masher I have ever owned.

this is a very high Quality Potato Masher. it's as good as you'll get. I know this as I've used others. and none have been as good as this one. it's a well designed item. you could say made to professional standards as the steel used is thicker heavier and sturdier than some other mashers I've seen. also the bottom of the Mashers base plate has a slightly larger surface area than some other inferior Mashers out there. the holes on the base plate are a good size without being to big. just about right. but don't let the picture of it on amazon fool you as this masher is much sturdier than it looks in person. the amazon picture doesn't do it justice. it's also very comfortable to hold and use. ok" so it's not the cheapest out there. but at least you get what you pay for with this one. it's bottom sole plate being all "one piece with the side rails" and having a good weight to it. no plastic bits to break. just pure German Made Quality at it's very best. you really cant go wrong in choosing this well made Masher. if it's Quality your looking for then that's Exactly what you get. I have no doubt that this Masher will easily last a lifetime. 100% recommended

My family loves its mashed potato, being from Northern Ireland its compulsory. I suffer greatly from arthritis and the hands are not what they used to be. I always used cheap manual mashers until it got too painful and simply too much of a task to merely mash a few spuds. I Ibought an electric hand masher which mashed well, though awkward to use and nigh on impossible to get properly clean. I invested in a Bowl type masher which mashed well, but gave uop the ghost quicker than I would imagine it should have, I got a second one, which lasted twpo weeks. They just aren't sturdy enough, overfill the bowl slightly and the motor goes, the sightest bump ansd it's curtains. On a whim I decided to go for a more expensive traditional masher. This thing has made life a bit easier. Really sturdy and well built, you can feel the weight in it and it goes through a large pot of potatoes like butter, very little effort needed at all. I stongly recommend this and would defo buy it again. A few quid extra very well spent.

This is a very good sturdy piece of quality masher I've had in years definitely recommended it. The only thing is i wish the handle was a little bit bigger for me thats because iv got big hands

I love this masher… we always buy a 10 kilo bag of Maris piper potatoes, peel them all, season them with salt and boil them all together in a large saucepan. When cooked I add a big knob of butter and put the pan in the sink so it’s nice an low… I then mash them with my new “Lurch” heavy duty one piece potato masher. When cooled I weigh them into 450 grams portions put them into takeaway containers and freeze them. The flat straight pushing handle is much easier and more effective than the normal pointy ended types that hurt the inside of the palm of your hands when you push them into the potatoes. I found mine a little strange at first, but soon got the hang of it, and now I wouldn’t go back to the old types. I’ve found it a great buy! I think it’s much easier to work around the outside of the pan when mashing, then work into the middle.

I won't say I've tried them all but I'm always on the lookout for good kitchen tools and I'm in no doubt this is THE masher for the discriminating masher. It took a while for the penny to drop on the wisdom of the horizontal handle and now we see several manufacturers understand the mechanics of mashing. But this is a cut above. One piece base - I think the handle is welded but you can't see the join. A very slight camber - proud by c1 millimeter at the middle of the base - ensures every atom of potato is pulverised; no more masher-escapees - those solid flecks of potato you sometimes spot in what you might have thought was a homogeneous mess. Thicker grade steel than you'll see on probably any other masher. I've seen similar models develop a negative camber after extensive use so I'm sure this will hold its shape. Note that compared to the average masher this, with its larger face and perhaps with a greater proportion of its area devoted to squashing, may offer slightly more resistance at the beginning of the job, gradually easing up as the spuds submit. A superb tool.

Love this masher - the old one is now binned! This masher is so easy to use and if needed I can use both hands (small hands). Perfectly mashes the potatoes and soup veg etc. Like that it is sturdy, robust, easy to clean and will last. Although expensive, I feel it is justified in the quality of the product, very pleased with it.

Sometimes you get what you pay for and while this is not cheap it feels like it will last a lifetime. The masher plate and arms are made of a single piece of stainless steel and are not riveted to each other unlike some of the similar models. The handle is wide and comfortable to hold if a little chilly in the winter and the whole item has a feeling of quality and durability. Mashes well with plenty of holes and quickly produces proper hand mashed potato or swede. Easy to clean and no rubber grips to worry about in the dishwasher. A well designed, quality item.

Meine Frau und ich sind mit diesem Kartoffelstampfer aus Edelstahl von Lurch wirklich sehr zufrieden. Im Vergleich zu meinem alten Stampfer ist dieses Modell deutlich angenehmer in der Handhabung. Durch die stabile Edelstahlkonstruktion wirkt er hochwertig, liegt gut in der Hand und lässt sich ohne großen Kraftaufwand benutzen. Besonders positiv fällt auf, wie leicht und gleichmäßig sich Kartoffeln, Gemüse oder auch Obst damit zerdrücken lassen. Nichts verbiegt sich, nichts wackelt, und die Fläche ist groß genug, um schnell ein gleichmäßiges Ergebnis zu bekommen. Auch die Reinigung geht problemlos – einfach abspülen oder in die Spülmaschine geben. Für alle, die einen zuverlässigen, langlebigen und leicht zu bedienenden Kartoffelstampfer suchen, kann ich dieses Modell nur empfehlen. Hier stimmt sowohl die Qualität als auch der Preis.
