works great, all 8TB are recognized by the console (PS5 PRO). I guess that some people were only showing 2 or 4 after install. This one is legit, PlayStation official. WD factory packaging.

Besides the price point it's amazing. I'll never have to work about memory on my ps5 pro and it transfers and downloads games so fast. Haven't had any problems with it working with my ps5 so far but I'll update if there is any heat problems or anything else otherwise. Can't get over how much memory I still have left. Definitely a must have for those with a giant gaming library.

Great for the ps5. Value to use this much space is a must for any gamer. Money is worth the investment in this project.

I got this "like new" for 900$ on a fluke sale USED and I have a Gen4 laptop and paying $1050 plus for a gen5 unit without heatsink seemed overkill in cost and I can only use half the gen5 performance level in my gen4 laptop, an Alienware unit with rtx4080 secondary GPU. This installed cleanly and worked well, good tight fit(this tight fit was becsuse the nonremovable heatsink is HUGE and a bit cumbersome, that can lead to some issues, almost did in fact for me but it BARELY FIT) and now my laptop has 1Tb native as C: and 8Tb as D: and my sdcard mounts as F. If I plug in an optical or other drive it will take E:. So this was perfect for me, indeed the PS5 logo/intent is just branding, it worked perfectly in my 2023 Alienware 16" x16 R1 laptop. Highly recommended. Ironic I bought one and it worked now trying to buy another is $1300, but thats what they are... sigh. Update: the first 5 I purchased were awesome, but the last 4 I bought were a DISASTER, they all were incorrect product!. ALL 4 were some other product of 256gb to 2Tb ACTUAL SIZE but with the seeming correct heatsink on top of it. One blinked red and one had the heatsink cover on BACKWARDS and one had the wrong markings on the cover and none of these last 4 were 8Tb. Buyer beware, someone is buying these now and returning them fraudulently with lesser smaller ssd core hardware and keeping the 8Tb valuable inner component, the actions of criminals and thieves. I almost got stuck with 4 units the previous buyer swapped out in this way. Don't buy these unless theyre new, there are despicable people that are cheating Amazon and unwitting buyers by swapping these out for much less valuable much smaller capacity units, criminal fraudsters. Watch out I just had to return 4 and the OWC raid chassis I wanted to put them into. Amazon you need to VERY CAREFULLY CHECK these returns. My first OWC raid chassis with 4 of these could not be duplicated because of these exact horrible actions done by the people that 'bought and returned" the items fraudulently. I panicked when I put all 4 today inside the owc second chassis and all 4 were WRONG HARDWARE. SHOCKING Depravity.

While this SSD is the same as the WD SN850X just branded with Playstation on it, it does have a slightly different heatsink. This 8TB one went into a PS5 Pro giving the console a whopping near 10TB of storage. Very fast and stays cool too. The PS branding on the 850P is generally more expensive, but goes on sale often so watch out for sales or just get the standard 850X (which also goes on sale frequently). Fits perfectly in PS5s, runs great, gives you quality storage at very fast speeds. Excellent.
