5303918214 Refrigerator Defrost Thermostat Kit

Couldn't get the fridge to pull down past like 65°F but the Freezer was fine?? ordered this and the damper assembly and installed both. I couldn't get a good crimp on the supplied butt splice connectors, and I ruined them. So I just used some orange wire nuts and then slipped the supplied heat shrink tubing over and applied heat with a hair dryer. It shrunk up around the connector nicely, and now the fridge is cooling nicely. The damper assembly was not the issue because i unmounted the old one leaving it hanging eith the portal between freezer and fridge wide open and that still didnt cool the fresh food side.

I was hoping this item would work on my old Electrolux fridge that wasn't defrosting... I was pretty sure my defrost timer and my heating element were good and took a chance that this part was all I needed and would work on my fridge, and the gamble paid off. My fridge is working perfectly again... Thank you for making this product available at an affordable price. Highly recommended for anyone who might have an old fridge that isn't getting cold enough in the main compartment but is icing over in the freezer. It's a super simple part to swap out and can breathe new life into an aging appliance.

Fit worked great

They supply you with what you will need but I used male and female connections with heat shrink around and over each part as the whole connection . Perfect fit matches factory quality super easy to install

Working perfect, it fixed my defrosting problem

This did fix my problem with the coils in the freezer freezing up and the temps in both the freezer and the fridge going up. However, it did not work right away. Once the repair was done it did take our unit at least 3 full days to normalize... I am not sure why. I do know that our unit does say on the temp control knobs that temp changes can take up to 24 hrs to take effect and that is when it is working normally. However, after waiting several days the unit is working better than it has ever worked. This was by far the cheapest part to replace when trouble shooting.

The part from blue stars is working fantastic. My freezer now isn’t an ice cave from the planet Hoth. The reason for 3 stars is whatever dingleberry packed up the package that was sent to me forgot one of the electrical butt connectors in the bag, forcing me to go to the local Home Depot to buy one so I could install it. Where’s the QA? Anyway, installation was super easy. Oh, if you don’t have wire cutters, it’s gonna be a rough one for you.

After installing and using it for 3+ months, my fridge works perfectly. No more icing up and the bottom fridge warming up. Saved myself buying a replacement fridge. No instructions, but very easy installation from the internet. No soldering required. If your freezer is icing over and the bottom part is not cold. Just try replacing the defrosting sensor. Saves you some money.
