Works perfectly! I was able to make 7 cuts on 3/4” copper pipe that was mounted along the floor joists next to the neighboring pipes. There was no way a conventional cutter would work and it was too small of an area to use a hacksaw. The cutter snapped on easily. With 4 or five rotations the pipes were cut perfectly. I sprayed the inter-working mechanism of the cutter with WD40 after using it to prevent rusting when stored. I used it a week later for 4 more cuts on 3/4” copper. Still cuts like new. It is very easy to switch to 1’2” cuts. It’s the greatest pipe cutter ever made!!!!!

This is the ideal tool for repairing 1980s vintage CPVC pipes which shatter if you use the wrong cutting tool. Also excellent for PVC and copper, but especially essential for CPVC repairs.

Best pipe cutter I ever used

Very sturdy cutter. I used it in a tight space for 3/4 pipe and it definitely cut fast however the pipe was older and thinner wall. The cutter crushed the ends and I ended up having to use two different manual cutters to control the pressure and get a smooth cut. So, I think it will work on newer thicker wall pipe but I would not recommend on anything thinner walled if you need a smooth cut.

Produces a decently clean cut on copper pipe. Also super easy to use. The spring automatically applies pressure to the blade, and all you have to do is turn the cutter until the pipe pops apart. Works well in tight spaces. Definitely worth the money, even if you’re a homeowner just looking to DIY some repairs.

If you are thinking about buying one of these or are on the fence about it I hope this will help. I work for a town and we do a lot of water meter installations and shut off valve installations. I was in a resident's basement who had an old compression valve that was seized so he wasnt able to shut water off from inside. Luckily he had a curb stop so we were still able to shut his water off. His copper line that needed to be cut was in a tight spot against a concrete wall. My pipe cutter was not able to fit in the space and was on its last leg. The gentleman I was doing the work for brought one of these down that he just bought still in the package and asked if I wanted to give it a try. It not only worked perfectly and made a nice clean and square even cut. I was so impressed with this I ordered it the next day. It said at time of order I would receive it on monday....it actually came a day early on sunday all the way from California and I'm in Ohio so that was a nice surprise. Its works like it says you just attach it and it self adjust from ½ inch to ¾ and turn it in the direction of the arrow and just put a little pressure with each revolution. The cutting wheel is replaceable. I would buy again and I definitely recommend it to anyone who works with water and copper tubing and to anyone who needs it for home use. Hope this helps

Not compatible with Australian standard 1/2" and 3/4" copper pipe. Australian pipe has slightly smaller O.D. the cutter would spin around the pipe, just won't cut it. Don't buy this if you intend to use it in Australia. The build quality is as solid as other Ridgid plumping tools .
