Useful for a DSLR which only has one microphone input when you want to use two microphones at the same time, puts one microphone on the left track and one on the right, lead seems well made, no crackle when moving, also short enough to not get tangled up in! This is suitable for audio inputs on cameras etc but not suitable for mobile devices such as phones or tablets

Excellent breakout cables, I’m using them to split the inputs on my Korg NTS-2 oscilloscope and for that they work great!

I bought this specifically to use with EDJing allowing me to precue. It's lasted years and hasn't failed me yet. However I haven't been able to split the sound so that both outputs get stereo sound or even left and right mono, so when using it to DJ I use an Aux Cable into my PA rather that a stereo cable (you know the one with Red and White ends)

This little wire is a great help for the amateur videomaker, and even for the pro that is in need to record two different mics on the same input. With the great help of splitting the two mics in the two different audio side (left and right) you are able to record two mics and have their sound separated, saving you lots of time in post production and allowing you to chose which mic you want to use for that specific part of the video, whilst still having another track recorded from the other mic for other part of the video. For example, you can record an interview, with two lavalier (clip on) microphones, and have both microphones recorded on the same track, just one will be left, the other will be right, in this way, when you are working in post production, you don't need to level the volume based on "who" is talking, but you just need to chose the track that was from the mic the person was talking into, and if you are recording using the same camera, it's then easy to merge video and audio without too much work. Lots of time saved in post production, wide range of possibilities that help you with great sound from recording two separate mics at the same time.

Really well built and works as desired. I use this as a channel splitter for two audio inputs while shooting in my Sony a7iii and it works a treat. Goes without saying you need to then optimise in post.

Used it three times and all was well, splitting two lav mics into a Panasonic 4K camcorder. Came to use it today and the red TRS side is dead. Quality control issue I'm sure. Cheaply made stuff will suffer so you pay your money, you take your chance.

I have two identical microphones (RØDE Videomicro) and wanted to use them in a stereo setup. Out of the box the RØDE VideoMicro microphone outputs a mono signal ( or rather dual mono - as the signal is delivered to both channels through a 3.5mm TRS jack). My intention was to feed one microphone to the left and another mic to the right input channel of my recorder, and since my recorder only has one stereo 3.5mm TRS input, I needed this cable to split the input, and the cable did what I expected it to do. The microphones are also dependent on PIP (Plug-in-power) that is delivered from the recorder though the cable to the microphones. This also worked like a charm.

Cheap, but good quality. Use for splitting / joining right and left audio, for instance using 2 separate mono microphones for right and left audio channels with an SLR camera for stereo sound input. This is not the same connector that you would use for connecting 2 headphone headsets together!
