Q: I have a 2005 dodge ram 1500 and planing on buying a 6.2" radio will it fit on this piece if i buy them both?

2004 Dodge Ram 2500: This unit has an opening that is just a tiny bit too narrow to slide to allow some double-din units to slide past the front of the bezel opening. For the 2004 Dodge, that means that any head unit with knobs at the right or left edge will be slightly obstructed. I had to trim the opening with a dremmel thin rotary cutter about 1/16" to get the Jensen VX7023 to push through a bit more to my satisfaction. But what other kit can you get for that model year that is not at least $100? So you may as well make this fit. Every thing else about it works out fine. For the specific Dodge question, also: Yes, you must cut your dash interior plastic supports for a double-din (but the bezel here has nothing to do with that issue). I used a cheap Oscillating Multi-Tool with a serrated blade to cut the plastic. It kept the cutting stroke short to minimize chance of cutting wires.

6 7/8" x 3 7/8 hole is the size. Lots of depth available. Some modification required to the dash behind this peice
