Good value lens
100-400 hood: Good value, does the job. JJC make good hoods for camera lens, just ordered one for another lens. Compared to the cost of the brand lens hood, this is great value. Also bought the hood for 18-150mm, great fit and product. Would buy from JJC again.

Why can't Canon provide these?!?!
A lens hood is a must and yet Canon see fit not to supply them with their lenses. Considering the exhorbitant cost of a Canon lens it seems stingy that they expect customers to buy a lens hood as an extra, when it's a necessary part of the lens. JJC, thankfully came to the rescue and this lens hood fits my Canon lens perfectly. I can't find a fault with it and use it daily. The quick release button and way the lens hood locks onto the lens after rotating in place is much better than the friction fit I'm used to seeing. All in all, an excellent product for a reasonable price.

Fits very well - clicks nicely in place, no rattle or play
For the money compared to the original part this is a bit of a no brainer. On fitting it goes on smoothly and clicks in place with no play or rattle. The release button works fine. What I cannot say is how the inside surface of the hood compares to the original. This hood only has a simple mattish plastic finish. It isn't finished in any kind of texture or pattern to reduce internal reflections beyond that. I am OK with it.

Fits just like an original Canon hood, but removal isn't so smooth it has a tendency to catch when you pull it away from the lens
