Rain Drum for Outside Garden, 6 Inches 8 Notes Steel Tongue Chakra Drums, Waterproof Meditation Rain Chime, Musical Instruments for Adult Gift with Bag, Music Book, Drum Mallets (Green)

Trying to find a neat birthday present i ordered one of these for my favorite co worker. What a nice product. Getting one for my daughter and mom for Christmas. Everyone wanted a turn to play with it. The sound is so warm and relaxing. She played out of the book within seconds. Get product sturdy and nice looking. Worth the price, which is hard to come by.

For Christmas, I decided to get two of these mini 6 inch, steel-tongue drums in deep green; one for each for my grown daughters in their 20’s. Both are creatives, and just love making and listening to music! You can choose to play the drum with the two mallets included (along with their rest stand), or with your fingers. There are 8 notes which can be tuned by either slightly lifting or pressing down on each individual “tongue”. Even better, it comes with an excellent instruction guide/music book with songs to play. The final items which are thoughtfully included are a strip of stickers with duplicate numbers for each note, and a great durable black bag to store it all. The only “odd” thing I noticed was there is no number “8” note on the drum. Instead, there are two numeral “1’s” but one has a “•”dot above the number “1”. After pondering it, I realized one of those notes is probably just an octave higher than the regular “1” note. It’s really no problem once you figure that out.😊 This cute drum has three round rubber “legs” making it very stable. The drum is sturdy and well made with a good weight to it, but it’s hollow inside as it should be. It’s well powder coated with a waterproof and scratch resistant paint that protects it from heavy usage and rusting. In the long run, this will help keep the tones sounding beautiful for a long time. Therefore, you can generate your own music, or use it outdoors as a “rain drum” for nature to make her own song. Now how freaking cool is that! There have been various studies showing that vibrations of certain sounds can actually help heal our minds and bodies. In fact, using “sound baths” was a popular treatment in VA hospitals during the 1940’s. The ethereal tones which this drum emanates can easily be incorporated into a meditation session. Humming or chanting along with the notes can help you relax too. Overall, this little steel drum is an object which has the magical ability of holding your interest, reducing your stress, and sparking your creativity for hours! I would highly recommend it as an unusual and thoughtful gift for anyone, at an extremely affordable price! They are a big hit with my kids, and I’ll probably get one for myself as well.

We are enjoying learning how to play songs from songbook included. Great grand daughter loves it. Need rain soon to try that out. Appears to be well made.

Well satisfied, just what the wife wanted.

As somebody who has had every set of wind chimes ruined by bad weather, I figured I’d just lean into it and go the rain drum route. Overall I’m very happy with this. This is a great sounding little rain drum for the garden, though I don’t prefer it for use as a regular instrument. The sound of it in the rain is quieter than expected but it’s charming nonetheless. I’ll probably end up buying more to put around the yard :) Also I thought it would be worth pointing out that the number stickers look much better when the protective covers are removed. In the reviews I noticed how a lot of people had left them on. (These are metal stickers so it’s good to rub and press them down well with your thumb and then evenly and slowly peel off the protective plastic. They give you extra because sometimes the metal part of the sticker lifts up or twists and it can’t be fixed when that happens. I put a picture of the stickers with and without the plastic. )

Sounds great, can be quite loud. Very relaxing. Good size. Not cheap quality at all, despite the price.

Awesome music maker either in the rain or in your house!!! Soothing sounds.

Pricy for how small it is, in my opinion. If that was the only issue, I would have considered it worth it for the potential to add to the ambiance of my outdoor space. However, even though I set it right outside my window downstairs, where I sit in the evenings, I haven't heard much in the way of music. I made sure it worked before I put it out and is exposed to plenty of rain, but haven't heard much of anything thus far. Maybe it's just quieter than I thought I'd be, but kinda disappointed for how much I was looking forward to it. Heavier, sturdy. Looks nice and to be of solid construction and good quality. Should hold up well in outdoor conditions.

I purchased this drum for my garden as it is a rain drum however, even during the rain, it produced no sound whatsoever
