Impressive Ingredients & Tube Material. Tastes & Feels Great! Minimal Tint. Wide Diameter.
I absolutely LOVE that this lip balm is made with natural ingredients only, and I love even more that they’ve gone above and beyond by packaging it into a cardboard tube. No toxic, leaching plastic – HOORAY! I’m absolutely impressed! Let’s get back to those natural ingredients, which on the bottling for the “Ruby Elegance” color/flavor I ordered, are listed as follows: Coconut Oil, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Shea Butter, Candelilla Wax, Mica Powder, Rose Essential Oil, Jasmine Essential Oil, Sandalwood Essential Oil.After initially opening it, the tube’s lid does slide off quite easily, so take that into consideration when storing this or putting it in your purse or pocket. To make the balm accessible for use, you have to push it upward from the bottom of the tube, which is easy enough. Just keep in mind that the balm cannot retreat back into the tube once you’ve pushed a section of it out, so definitely don’t push out more than you can manage remaining sticking out.The flavor is certainly floral, which I think is lovely. Looking at the ingredients, you can probably imagine what it tastes like. The texture on my lips is silky and nourishing. It feels similar to other natural-ingredient lip balms I’ve liked and doesn’t have that characteristically thick stickiness that I associate with standard lip balms. It feels lightweight and sophisticated on my lips. As far as the tint goes, it’s minimal and hardly detectable. More than anything, it just makes my natural lip color look more prominent. Because of this, I really doubt you could go wrong with any of the colors, regardless of your skin tone or what outfit you’re wearing. If I had a complaint, it would be in regards to the diameter of the balm’s surface, which is quite wide so that it covers a larger surface than the area of my lips, which are neither thin nor noticeably large. It can be difficult to prevent the balm from applying to the area outside my lips. Regardless, I’m now a total fan of this lip balm and recommend it wholeheartedly!

Nice
This won't really give you any color, but it is moisturizing. The cardboard holds up really nice.

Like a nice candle
This is perhaps my new favorite tinted lip balm. I have several colors from MD Solar Sciences and Coola and they're fine; I wear them instead of lipstick, which I've never really liked. The only real advantage those have is that they contain sunscreen. This lip balm doesn't have sunscreen, so if that's important to you, you'll either have to look elsewhere or mix this with a formula that does have sunscreen. For a tinted lip balm, it feels pretty smooth and soothing. It doesn't feel overly greasy nor does it feel dry. It feels reasonably light on your lips. I spent a lot of time looking for a lip balm with coconut oil and shea butter and this one has both. And not only does it feel like a good lip balm, It also smells like a scented candle with a hint of rose. It isn't tasty like some lip balms, but it isn't nasty, either. There are no scary ingredients in this formula. The wild berry color I picked is vibrant enough to know you have something on your lips but isn't so thick and opaque that your lips don't show through. The label indicates the entire thing can be composted and there is even an expiration date on it so you know how long it will stay useful and usable. I like this balm a lot and will purchase other colors.

I wanted to give five stars, but don't love tasting a potpourri.
I love love love that this is made with recycled / recyclable materials and no plastic. That alone would've made me want to give five stars! I also love the slightly squat shape (note on that below). I love the packaging, and how it looks (very kind of rustic and homemade vibe). The color is great... just enough but not too much. The scent too is nice.My challenges were: the scent is such that I can also taste like a bouquet of flowers in my mouth and that's nowhere near as pleasant as smelling the same thing. I'm also noticing that because of the shape, it's a little more tricky than normal to get on my lips without then also having it wipe right back off onto the packaging.Really can't get over the taste though & this ended up in the trash because of it, sadly.

Unique packaging; Mocha Latte color is also Mocha Latte flavor
This lip balm is unique with its cardboard packaging. It seems like cardboard might not work for a lip balm container, but J&L Naturals has it figured out and makes it work. You push the balm up from the bottom like a push-pop ice cream, rather than turning a little plastic dial at the bottom. There's no plastic anything -- which is great. The lip balm is nice, too. I chose the Mocha Latte option (Mocha Latte is both the color and scent) and it is smooth and moisturizing, with a sheer, subtle brown tint and a slight sparkle. I am very pale and the subtle color looks fairly natural on me. If you have darker skin, you may find you need a couple of layers for the color to show. I put some on the inside of my wrist (see photo) and it looks like a bruise, but on my lips it works fine and is a good neutral color. It has been 100+ degrees every day this week so I am a little hesitant to take this balm with me in my bag or put it in my car. I'm not sure how the cardboard container will hold up to melting lip balm; I'm imagining an oily brown mess. So for now, I'm keeping it in my drawer at work so I can quickly add a little color and moisture to my lips when needed (and without a mirror) but still look natural.Overall, this lip balm gets points for it cruelty-free, smooth and moisture-filled formula, natural oils and other terrific ingredients, unique no-waste packaging and sheer hint of color.

Love
Love that it’s all natural. The smell reminds me of the soap your momma used to wash your mouth out with lol. But it’s dryer so it’s more like a stain instead of a balm. Doesn’t smear.
