At last, an all-rounder knife I can use!
I used to be completely happy with Victorinox and Kitchen Devil serrated knives, the serrated 'everyday' ones which were about 18 cm or 20 cm long. They were excellent knives, and so cheap they could be relegated to the toolbox or craft drawers when too blunted for kitchen use, and simply replaced. However for some reason, some years back, the knives got shorter (EU regulations?...) and kitchen life became accordingly more difficult and frustrating. The maximum 16 cm serrated knives just aren't long enough for vegetable preparation and I ended up making two cuts instead of one most times - so double the time spent on simply cutting vegetables and fruit.I tried them all (not just Victorinox and Kitchen Devil but even the expensive ones), but whatever the design the problem remained: the knives were too short. Finally I decided to look at much bigger serrated knives and try them - although with some trepidation. After seeing the reviews here (many thanks, people!) I decided on this Victorinox 'Chef's Knife', not even considering the size by this time because I just needed a knife that *worked* for me.The knife arrived today, fortuitously just as I was about to cut a range of vegetables for the main meal of the day. Also fortuitously I needed to do lots of different cutting (slicing garlic cloves thinly, chopping ginger finely, deseeding and cutting chilli peppers into thin strips, slicing spring onions into coins), so I decided to put the newly-arrived knife through its paces with a vengeance. The knife performed brilliantly (and, despite the fact that it's much larger than any knife I've used before for general purposes and I hadn't used it before, I didn't even cut myself). The very thin point made deseeding chilli peppers etc. easy and the ergonomic handle which, despite being made of a hard substance, is 'soft' in the hand and gives an excellent grip, plus the incredible sharpness, made the food preparation a breeze. The large size of the knife didn't hamper me at all, despite this being the largest knife by far which I've ever used for general food preparation.Obviously I can't at this stage speak to the knife's longevity, but I took the recommendation of another reviewer here (again, many thanks) and bought a Victorinox Dual Knife Sharpener (https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000AR7AKG?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1) for when I blunt the knife (I use glass chopping boards) and I'm impressed with that too and feel confident of being able to keep the knife in good nick (as it were).I will be getting a second one of these knives just as soon as I've recovered from the expenditure this time round; brilliant.

Great knife
This is my second one now. As a chef I have plenty of knives and this is one that's always at hand. Nice size and weight with a sharp edge. Very versatile and easy to handle.

Super sharp.
Purchased to replace a couple of old, worn out kitchen knives. It's amazing how hard it is to find a serrated kitchen knife over 5 inches in length, apart from a bread knife. This Victorinox knife is super sharp, glides through the cutting of tomatoes/Peppers and vegetables etc. No more nasty cuts hopefully due to a semi blunt knife (🙏). Overall the knife is a perfect length, lightweight and comfortable.

La qualité Victorinox
J’aime bien Victorinox.

Io li consiglio spassionatamente
