Cotopaxi Allpa 35l Travel Pack, Blue Spruce/Abyss, 35L, Allpa 35l Travel Pack

This amazing backpack and my personal item (Free People Quilted Carryall Bag--absolute essential!) were all I needed for 5 days in Europe this summer. For normal travel needs, this Allpa 35L is my preferred carryon, much better than a rollaboard for maneuvering through all terrain: escalators, cobblestone streets and curbs, crowded trains, etc. The organization of this travel pack is absolutely genius and what sets it apart from other quality travel backpacks, along with its stunning looks. We also have the Osprey Farpoint 40L (mens) and that is a great travel pack, better for walking all day with a full load due to adjustable shoulder straps and external compression straps. But I still prefer the Allpa for sevaral reasons: The exterior and interior pockets are perfectly organized and intuitive, holding all my packing cubes neatly and keeping everything easily accessible. The capacity for its size feels unmatched. I just could not believe how much I could pack in it! I am 5'3" and this 35L pack feels and looks better than the Farpoint 40L which makes me look like a turtle. It is a smaller pack, but so well designed that it doesn't seem to have less capacity than the Farpoint. Aesthetically, this is a beautiful pack and I always get lots of compliments as I travel. This is still new so I can't speak to durability yet, but the material, stitching and zippers seem very strong and secure. I typically keep the hipbelt stowed, but this is the one detail that I think the Farpoint does better. If you know you will be walking for hours with a full pack, the Farpoint hipbelt and shoulder strap suspension system will keep you comfortable and balanced. That said, the Allpa hipbelt and shoulder straps are comfortable and more than adequate. Traveling during a heat wave, I did not feel this pack made me suffer more, so that definitely speaks to good design of straps and breathable back panel. The Allpa also has loops where you can attach either carabiners or lashes to hold additional items (I like to lash a jacket or sweatshirt). One improvement I would suggest: make the luggage pass-through strap wider to accommodate large luggage handles. It doesn't fit with my large checked bag handle. You can find good travel packs at a lower price point, but this bag just brings me joy every day I use it because of its delightful practical and aesthetic design.
