⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent all-round colour laser printer – compact, fast, and highly customisable
I’ve been using the Canon I-SENSYS LBP631CW for a while now, and I’m genuinely impressed with how well it performs. For such a compact colour laser printer, it delivers exceptionally sharp and vibrant prints, whether it’s text documents, colour charts, or the occasional photo or flyer. The build quality feels solid and professional, and the printer is surprisingly quiet in operation – a nice change from some other models I’ve owned. Setup and Connectivity: Setting it up was very straightforward. The on-screen instructions are clear, and connecting to Wi-Fi was painless. Once connected, it works perfectly with both Windows and macOS, and printing directly from a phone or tablet via the Canon Print Business app is seamless. The printer also supports AirPrint and Mopria, which makes it very convenient for mixed-device households or small offices. Performance: Print speed is impressive for a printer of this size – it easily handles multi-page documents without lagging or smudging. The first page out is quite fast, and colours are consistent across the whole batch. I also appreciate the toner efficiency; even after a fair amount of use, the toner levels seem to go down slowly, which helps offset the slightly higher initial cost of laser cartridges. Sleep Mode Tip: One thing worth mentioning is that the printer goes into sleep mode quite quickly by default. The first few times, I found it mildly inconvenient when I’d send a print job and have to wait a moment for it to wake up. However, this is easily adjustable — simply go to the Menu → Preferences → Timer Settings → Sleep Mode Timeout, and you can set the sleep interval to something longer (I changed mine from the default 1 minute to 15 minutes). Once adjusted, it behaves exactly as you’d want — conserving power when idle, but not jumping into sleep too soon. Usability and Design: The control panel is clear and responsive, with simple navigation and a bright display. It’s very intuitive once you get used to the layout. The paper tray holds a good amount for a small printer, and the output tray design prevents pages from curling or sliding off. The overall footprint is modest, making it a great choice for a home office or small workspace. Final Thoughts: Overall, the Canon I-SENSYS LBP631CW is an outstanding colour laser printer that combines excellent print quality, strong reliability, and thoughtful energy-saving features. It’s easy to maintain, toner lasts well, and print results are consistently crisp. The only real tweak I’d recommend is adjusting the sleep mode setting as mentioned — after that, it’s near perfect. If you’re looking for a dependable, professional-quality printer that fits comfortably on a desk and delivers consistent results, this one is a fantastic choice.

I'm up and printing after Windows 11 banjaxed the previous printer!
Great printer, but don't rely on the Windows driver - download the proper Canon driver and go wireless!

Long-term investment at a budget
Like with any purchase on Amazon, ensure you buy from the highest rated seller. As for this colour laser printer? I'm no printing expert, but it is the best investment you can make if you have/had a traditional inkjet printer. You will need to dedicate space, as it's square and tall. Setting it up was a breeze as long as you've got patience and can easily connect via WiFi. Family has had no sound complaints in the morning, midday, or evening. Noisiest part is evidently start-up and shutdown — however, it has sleep mode which means it can be ready on standby without any "spooling". Compared to the average inkjet, laser printing inherits very accurate/detailed printing, with phenomenal colour usage. If you set it up via a personal computer, definitely get Canon's printer software, so you can check cartridge statuses.
