It depends on the engine brand in your truck. HD431 supports DPF regen and advanced functions on compatible Detroit and Paccar engines. For trucks with other engines, it may only support basic OBD2/HDOBD functions

Can it perform DPF regen on all trucks?

No. DPF regen is only available on compatible Detroit and Paccar engine trucks. The vehicle must support this function and meet ECU safety conditions before regeneration can be performed. DPF regen may not be available on every truck

Does this scanner have a built-in battery?

No. HD431 does not have a built-in battery. It is powered through the vehicle’s OBD/HD diagnostic port and will turn on after connecting to a working vehicle diagnostic port
