Great looking insulated mug with chunky straw
A very stylish insulated mug, in a range of colour choices - I have the navy one. It does look great and is very good quality, although I don't understand the current £40 price tag, unless it's as a fashion accessory. It's a flask, but without a sealable lid, so is more for use at work, or around the home but not really for travelling. The concave top with silicone seal makes it less likely to spill when tilted, although obviously it would spill around the straw as (there isn't a seal around the straw itself), if tipped fully sideways. The outer plastic has a non-slip finish, and the base is completely covered with a non-slip silicone disc, complete with logo. The straw is part metal, with the Chilly's logo, and part silicone, although the silicone part can be slid up and down. It's wider than most straws so that you can drink more at once, and contains its own cleaning brush, making it more compact to store than many flask/mugs of a similar type. There are 3 ways to drink from the cup - through the straw, from the top of the cup by removing the 'lid' (it contains a hole so isn't a leak or spill proof lid), or by unscrewing the lid altogether to drink from the metal rim, which I think is brushed stainless steel. It's ideal for savouring either a hot or cold drink for longer - a cool milkshake or iced drink on hot days, or a warm latte, tea or hot chocolate on a cold day, and is a completely re-useable way to enjoy your favourite choice of drink.

I just don't get it
Like other reviewers, I have reservations. This cup wasn't as I expected and I just don't... *Get* it. I can't think of a single time I would use this cup, except perhaps at home. And if I'm using it at home, I'm not sure what I need a £40 double insulated mug for.Theres no doubt that the craftsmanship is gorgeous. This is a cup I was excited to unbox and not disappointed. But I can't take it out the house with me. The lid doesn't seal, there's a permanent hole in it, filled by a straw that always sticks up out the hole and can't be capped or closed. Where am I ever going to be keeping a drink for long enough that it needs double insulation to keep it cool, but always stored upright and never jostled? I can't put this in a bag (it's even awkward to put in a bag when empty), I wouldn't really trust it in a car, or on a train. I use it quite a lot at home just because it's a nice mug. But I wouldn't spend £40 just for thatThis feels like a solution in search of a problem.

Trending, but expensive
This cup is really nice to look at it, and as my daughter pointed out instantly, it’s so ‘trendy’ therefore this must be popular on social media. It’s very well made and looks like it will last a long time. It’s nice to hold and easy to drink from, both through the straw and sipping as a hot drink.Size wise - for a cold drink, it’s not massive, but would be useful for a milkshake etc. You will just need to constantly refill if you are wanting to use it to get through your daily water intake. For hot drinks it’s a good size and it does keep your drinks warmer than a normal household mug.It is very easy to clean and the straw comes with a handy brush. In conclusion, as it’s unfortunately not a travel mug as it cannot be sealed, it is an expensive alternative to a household mug at £40. It does have the lovely logo on though, and looks classy, so to those you are into brands may be happy with this cup. It most definitely does look trendy on your office desk.

Good quality, well-made but not perfect – pricey too
There’s no doubt about it, this is a very good quality product. It’s well-made, looks smart and has a nice soft-feel finish with silicone base. Capacity is 500ml, ideal for milk-shakes etc.The cup is double-walled and vacuum insulated, and ergonomically it’s quite comfortable to hold. This can be used with the metal straw, or by removing the top straw-guiding lid (with straw), it can be used as a cup. The (stainless steel) straw is pretty good, but tends to flop about – although that enables you to tilt it to a comfortable position. However, not everybody likes the sensation of metal in the mouth, and particularly against teeth. Although I understand why it is stainless steel, I think I would prefer silicone. Also, if you ARE using say, in a car, on a bus etc; if you go over a bump or are jolted, a metal straw could be damaging to teeth. The lid isn’t as tight as it should be.Being double insulated helps to keep the liquid cool (or hot of course). However, this is let down by the simple omission of a sealing lid, with the straw / able to be kept separate, or when applicable not used and left at home for when travelling etc. Realistically, this can only be used where the drink is added, and not for ‘on the go’.All in all, a good quality product, fine for if you only intend to use realistically in one place (home or office), but even then it has its drawbacks. The jury’s out on the metal straw….. Very pricey.I hope that you have found this helpful.

Well made but a bit confused
We have the Chilly water bottles and they are awesome and reasonably priced so was keen to get a hold of their new product the Chilly switch. There is no doubt this is a well constructed cup that is simplistic in it looks and design but just feels like quality. Comes with easy to remove lid and a metal straw, easy to clean and keeps stuff hot or cold. So I love the brand. However with this item I’m so confused. Firstly it has a hole in the top for the straw, which you can’t plug, so in my view you cant travel with it with liquid in it without the risk of liquid escaping. I don’t think you would take it somewhere empty to have it filled, it’s relatively heavy for what it is and bulky so why would you carry this around with you. The straw can’t be shrunk so it permanently sticks out of the hole by 5cms so this make it awkward to carry around with you. So that means I think it’s a drinks container for home. Which is great but at £40 at time of reviewing I’ve got to ask why? So for me I think it’s a confused product and you’ve got to really love the brand to get one of these and accept it will probably only be good for home use or when on a camp trip where you may pour coffee or cold drinks into, but not be backpacking as I think it to big and bulky. Sorry team.
