will these bags hold 3kg in weight

Can't really help you because I use these bags for shredded paper for my recycle bin (avoids 'confetti' in our streets!

Hi. No I don’t think so. They are straightforward ordinary brown paper bags with no special coating. They would quickly disintegrate with the moisture of the food. I do believe you can get some sort of paper bag which has been specially treated. I just use the bags for shredded paper waste.
