Chinese Bamboo Flute Music by Ming Flute Ensemble

Chinese World Fusion Music
What happens when you start with traditional Chinese flute music and add a piano, guitar, and synthesizer? You get world fusion music that ranges from cutesy (Track 1) to sublime (Track 7). The artists who wrote and performed this music were pushing the limits and having fun, while also paying homage to traditional Chinese music. Note: Amazon shows the CD with at least three different versions of the cover art.

Fairley good choice of music.
This is a nice collection of music but I was looking for more relaxing type or Zen type of music. There is a few songs on it that fit this kind I was looking for.

Cheerful and Soothing
The music is cheerful and soothing. It is great for relaxing. It is also great as background music during the day.

Sadly But Really Wrong
I was tempted to give one star, but that would unfair. There are perhaps 10-12 minutes of lovely flute music backed by traditional instruments.None of this is traditional music, although they do use the traditional instruments. With the exception of a few moments, nothing on this disc, is in the Chinese pentatonic scale. The synthesizer is wildly wrong. Whether you like it or not, what in the world is it doing here?If you are looking for New Wave music, circa 1985 style (the whoopa whoompa synthesizer gives it away), with Chinese instruments you have found it. Otherwise, I would really just move on.

Tell me when they tour.
One of the greatest listening CDs, especially when stoned. This anonymous group put together a really wonderful blend of east and west. I would love to see them tour, but sadly there is no credit given for the artists or engineers.
