Very soft material on top and water proof fabric at bottom. It comes with a carrying belt you can carry it like a shoulder bag. The blanket is lightly padded and very large size. Unlike other beach blanket, It’s so soft that I feel you can use it like a regular blanket.

Just opened it and every seam on this blanket is either fraying or coming unraveled I will be returning it.

This blanket is great for picnics and outside events where you need to stay clean and dry while sitting on the ground. It doesn't pick up sand and dirt easily, and if it does, you can throw it in the washing machine. It rolls up to a manageable size and is reasonably comfortable. I was expecting it to be thicker, given that it has three layers, but it is still comfortable. It's nice not having grass and twigs stuck to the blanket when you are packing up. It can also be used to cover yourself if it starts to rain, which is a nice side benefit. Worth buying.
