Nitro V steel Great
Great overall knife. The nitro V steel gets very sharp and stays sharp. My only hang up is the shape of the blade. I liked it in pictures but for daily use, it's impractical. It loses half of its utility with the weird beak shape.Very sturdy well built knife. Won't chip or break easilyThe bearings could be better but can't complain for the price. One of the cheapest knives with nitro V steel you can find.

Amazing quality and fit, finish, milling inside liners to reduce weight....size is misleading this thing dissappears in the pocket. Great knife.

Tough, Sharp, and Ready for Action
The Kizer Helmet is like a trusty sidekick—reliable, sharp, and always there when you need it. With a 3.17” Nitro V steel blade, this bad boy holds an edge better than your buddy holds a grudge over fantasy football. It’s tough, corrosion-resistant, and slices through whatever you throw at it—boxes, rope, or that annoying plastic packaging that laughs at lesser knives. The green G10 handle? Grippy, lightweight, and built for real work. It feels solid without being bulky—kind of like a good handshake, firm but not overcompensating. Whether you’re using it for camping, hiking, or just everyday carry, this thing stays comfortable and secure in hand, even if you’re sweating like a guy trying to justify another knife purchase to his wife. And let’s talk deployment—because the flipper tab and liner lock work flawlessly. The action is smoother than your best pickup line, snapping open with authority. The deep carry pocket clip keeps it discreet but ready, because no one likes pocket bulk.Bottom line: The Kizer Helmet is a solid, no-nonsense EDC blade that’s ready for whatever comes next.Final Verdict: 10/10, would flip open unnecessarily all day. Tough, sharp, and built to work—just like a proper man’s knife.

Good blade shape for slicing
This is a pretty good folding knife. As received, the blade was ok, but I was able to improve the edge a bit with a few passes on a fine water stone. The blade is Nitro V, which gets high marks for stain resistance and good edge holding, although no hardness data was given. The sheepsfoot blade is fine for slicing, but far from ideal for penetration and, as such, this will never be my favorite for general purpose knife. The liner lock works well. Opening with the flipper is quick and easy. The thumb hole works less well, I think mainly due to its shape.

Kizer Helmet Knife, 3.17" Sharp Nitro V Steel blade
Knife fits the hand well and is comfortable to use. Blade length is a satisfactory length for most EDC chores. Flipper is smooth and easy to launch the blade. I was mainly interested in the Nitro Blade Steel. I arrived sharp, as do most all knives, but the long term use and how well the sharpness will endure. Only time will tell.
