Bought as a present for a granddaughter, it is as good as new but not so pristine as to deter regular use.

This book provides a good introduction to coins and coin collecting. It is bright and colourful with plenty of photo illustrations. Each 'topic' is covered over 2 page sides making it relatively easy to read in pieces. The first portion of the book deals with the history of coinage in general and how it developed in different regions. The second portion deals with methods and materials in the making of coins. This is followed by a guide to coin collecting (numismatics) - origins, grading, caring and different themes. The remainder of the book - and about 50% of total pages - is devoted to a 'world directory of coins', a brief description of the historical and current coins from various countries and regions of the world. There is no information about the values of the coins - if this is what is wanted then this is not book for you. All in all a pleasant book to page through but not for more than a fiver.

Excellent collectible Items and Good Packing

I got his for my grandson. It is really a nice way to begin to learn about coins. My brother, which is a long time coin collector said he would like to have one. So this coin book is good for the beginners and the seasoned collectors.

This looks like a great book for beginners. It covers a lot of history and basic theory. I highly recommend it.

Pretty good but has basics only. Not for a serious collector.
