Bought this to replace my old Bosch VWF2401 that I had for over twenty odd years. Glad I purchased the 8kg 'HWD80' Model, as any thicker would've been a problem to get through the narrow doors I have. Definitely a tad deeper than the 46cm stated in the product dimensions by at least 4cm. All in all extremely impressed with this Washer-Dryer. Drum Noise is almost silent until its doing a heavy spin. Most of the noise appears to be from vibration in where it's situated, so may even be a bit quieter once I use the sticky muffling pads provided. Speaking of the drum, the size is huge compared to my old one, more than enough to accommodate the weekly wash of a small family, let alone me on my own! Dryer also dries the capacity as it should, I half loaded the drum and it had no problems on the Smart Wash/Dry getting my bedding dried. The dryer itself isn't too loud either, can barely hear it from the next room. The interior light for the drum is also very helpful in loading and unloading, especially in low light conditions. The Cycles are all of variable lengths, and all settings like Temperature, Spin and Dry Time can be changed. It is also possible to completely customise a cycle to whatever you are washing so you can really get what you want out of a cycle. My only complaint; the touch screen buttons. It can be a bit temperamental and fidgety. Might be my big sausage fingers but it always seems to lack any responsiveness without pressing hard on it. Would've been nice also to have had some functionality to connect it to WiFi and run cycles from an app like some other brands have, but that's not a feature I'm overtly worried about. All in all quite happy with buying!

For years I have had a tiny 3kg washing machine that was so noisy it had to go on at night as my son wouldn't tolerate it otherwise. We finally decided that enough was enough and after some kitchen cabinet cutting we bought a 'normal' sized washer and dryer, seeing as my dryer from the late 70's had started to make a knocking sound too. I did my research and decided on this one. I am not disappointed! This is a mid priced machine and is well worth the money. Firstly, it is so quiet that I can have the machine on in the day with my son around and he doesn't immediately try to leave the house, it was worth the price for that alone. Secondly, it's really easy to use and I love that it adjusts the washing time depending on the weight of the load. It looks good, the light is a nice touch. If it has any flaws they are the following but they in no means take away from it's brilliance. 1. It would be nice if you could turn the light on if you wanted as it only goes on at the start and end of a wash (if the machine is still on) and because it has a dark door you can't see what's going on inside without the light, no bigge really. 2. The front, especially the door, is quite static'y so attracts dust super easy, meh. 3. If you don't take the clothes out of the machine as soon as it finishes drying they can be super creased, *shrug*. So, in conclusion, if you wanted a new washer/dryer you will not be disappointed if you buy this - the novelty hasn't worn off yet and I've had it about a month now!

I have just upgraded to this from a standard washing machine. Having never owned a washer/dryer before I feel like I'm now living a life of luxury and am wondering why I didn't make this step years ago! It's literally a game changer and time saver! I'm loving not having to put the washing out or swap machines! I'm loving how energy efficient this is, it makes me want to use it over and over again and it doesn't make me feel guilty using the dryer over putting the washing out! The large capacity of 12kg is amazing, I can fit so much in the drum it saves me having to do as many washes a week plus it's perfect for duvets and larger items too. There are lots of settings so it's great for many materials and on a couple of them you can manually change the spins, rinses, temperatures etc. There are 3 different drying options which I'm still playing around with-so far i'm enjoying the options and seeing the different results. The machine is so quiet, it's a godsend! My washing machine was quite noisy but I often don't even know this is really on because it is just a soft background noise. It looks modern and the lights are actually one of my favourite features as is the steam function, I'm looking forward to testing that out on stains! The LED lights are so snazzy and the light inside the drum makes loading and unloading so much easier, especially when I have to find something to take it out etc. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone, not just large households. Just remember to take the transportations bolts out of the back before using it like I didn't!!!! You won't be disappointed-i'm showing my age here but it's my best purchase so far this year!!!

Compared to my last washing machine, this gives outstanding washing results. You can customise all 14 preset programs, add up to 3 extra rinses, and adjust the spin speed from 400 to 1400. Change the temperature from 0 to 90°c and set wether your clothes are soiled with blood, grass, wine, juice, milk or mud. You can set the time for when you want the machine to start or end. As for the tumble dryer, i was equally impressed with the results. I can't believe how well it dries the clothes, without being harsh on the fabric. Again, you can adjust all the settings on that, or let it do it's own thing. Either way, the results are impressive. I have found a little trick to speed up the drying process, and that is, open the detergent draw whilst drying. This lets out a lot of the condensation, thus, cutting down the drying time considerably. You don't need to keep checking on the clothes either, as it has all the relevant sensors built to take care of that. My machine is situated on floorboards, which isn't ideal. It's naturally going to generate more sound pollution this way, as to installing the machine on a solid concrete floor. Build quality of the machine is above average. It also has a light inside the drum. Now if you're not used to having a light inside the drum, you actually wonder how you ever lived without one. This little light makes loading and unloading the machine somehow easier. It makes a mundane job enjoyable. The front panel is mainly touch sensitive which i prefer. This allows you to have more control over the machine. To top off my review, this machine also comes with a 2 year labor guarantee, and a 10 year parts guarantee. I mention this because i think that Haiers previous models weren't without there problems. And when they did go wrong, which I found out through vigorous research, they went wrong mainly after a few washes into their life, leaving their customers totally in the dark. I am pretty sure that they have been forced to sort all these issues out, otherwise companies like Amazon would end up refusing to sell Haier products. When buying any new appliances, or anything electrical, i have always exhausted every avenue when it comes to research. I want to be sure that I'm not just buying something because it either looks good, or some salesman says its good, or because of the make. You would be surprised how many white goods manufactures are made in the same factory, using the same components, with the only difference being the badge on the front of the appliance, and maybe a few minor cosmetic changes, but with a substantial difference in the price, that's the truth of it , that's the world we live in today. To anyone looking at buying this product, i would say that you can purchase this product with confidence. Enjoy.

Further below is my original review after 2 months. Here is my NEW review after 6 months. EDIT: After 2 years the pump has broken 3 times - you have been warned. Totally avoid this washer dryer. After 6 months the pump stopped working and wouldn't extract the water. A new pump was fitted (after a week of waiting for an engineer) and then the same day the drying element stopped working. This Haier is part of the Hoover group, which I would have avoided if I had found that out before-hand because the only other washer that I have ever had a problem with was a Hoover. Totally unreliable. Below is my review after 2 months ... Firstly, this machine does dry. There are 3 drying levels and the pre-programmes only use level 2 drying which does not dry thoroughly. You have to adjust the drying level for it to dry properly, I also leave the washing in after drying as the drum stays really warm for up to 1 hour. Secondly, the grey water hose at the back of the machine that takes the waste water away to your drain is the shortest that I have ever known on a washing machine. My washing machine sits under the kitchen worktop, with panels at either side of the machine - it was impossible for me to connect the hose to the waste pipe without disconnecting the hose from the clips at the back of the washing machine, which is ok, but then you cannot clip the hose back into the clips. It states in the manual that the height of the hose has to be about 100cm, this is the height when it is clipped to the back of the machine. I had to remove a kitchen side panel to be able get in and clip the hose back to the machine. Alternatively, if you have this problem, then you might be able to get a hose extender. I think a lot of machines might have been fitted with the hose not clipped back in at the right height - due to the hose being so short - and therefore causing drainage problems and other problems. The timer delay is a bit confusing, it sets the time for when the washer should end, which isn't too bad but it's not clear on some washes how long the wash is and so you don't know when it will start. It's not a big problem and you can work it out. The spinning is really nice and smooth, a lot quieter than our last machine. The load weight of 12kg is fantastic. I am basically doing 1 wash instead of 2 washes in the old machine. It also seems to get the clothes cleaner than our last machine. One great feature is that on most of the programmes you can adjust the water temperature - which saves time and money - this gives you a lot of flexibility to create your own "wash" as you can also adjust drying level, spin level and many other features. It takes time to get used to but once you understand it, it's great. There are only a few washing programmes (about 2) that you can select that will allow you to dry at 8kg - this is ok, but you need to watch out for programmes that wash at 12 kg but only dry at 6kg or 4kg. Overall, I am really happy with the machine - so long as it remains reliable. As for it smelling, as some people say, it does say in the manual to run a programme first, without washing, to get rid of the smell. You also need to clean the filter every month, which is easy to do (its on the bottom front right of the machine). I would just recommend to read the manual and re-read it.

First, I'd like to state that I've read a lot of reviews before buying this machine and one of the most common complaints was that smart wash and dry never seems to dry clothes. I find this to be false. I've tried multiple different loads in the machine now, and what I find is if you wash sheets or towels or big think jumpers, the clothes don't dry correctly because they don't have the space to rotate freely and it all clumps together into a soggy ball. This is true just using the washing cycle too. If you put too many sheets in, it doesn't spin them properly. You have separate these items out, but then the rest of your laundry will dry correctly. Overall, the machine is very silent. The only noise I've experience is if you load 2-5kg into it, the water sloshing around can be noisy as there is not enough clothing to break or silence the fall of the water. I had to get up at 1am because it sounded like I'd left something in there that shouldn't have been in there. The inbuilt light allowed me to see what was taking place and I could see it was the water making the noise. A+ for features there. My kids also love activating the light and watching what is happening inside. Quality is amazing, the door opens and closes lightly, I don't have to slam it to get it to shut and I can open it with 1 finger. It also comes with a handy guide that tells you how much electricity each cycle uses on average, the water it uses and also things like how much soap to use depending on wash size, as well as what kind of detergent (tablet, pod, liquid etc) is best for certain types of loads. Another great feature is the Auto weighing. I can use most of the cycles and the time is always different because the machine figures out how long is needed. One slight down side is the booklet doesn't explain the modes very well. It describes "Cotton 20" as a cycle, which there is a mode for that but then it says "Cotton 40-60" and on the machine, there isn't a mode for that. You have to select just "Cotton" not "Cotton 20" which.. I don't understand why have those separate... But select "Cotton" and from there adjust the temperature. The booklet also doesn't explain the smart wash and dry. Useful. Not going to down vote the machine for the booklet though, the machine itself has been a game changer for us. Weve all but binned our laundry basket. Stuff gets thrown into the machine, and in the morning.. fresh dry clothes!

I bought this machine after searching “Best Washer Dryer” on the Internet. I found out the smaller machine is better and to only put half a load in. I’ve washed a lot of things in it since I bought it. It replaces a very expensive high capacity machine that has WiFi and a dryer that’s supposed to be eco friendly. This is a better washing machine at 1/3 of the price. The only thing I miss about the machine it replaces is that it chose the amount of soap based on the weight of the washing so with this one I have to remember to put soap in it. I like the simplicity of SMART WASH AND DRY which works for most things. I like that the washing comes out smelling nice. The other machine (probably through lack of soap or just soap going off because it’s in an open container inside the machine and probably has parasitic voodoo living in it) makes all my clothes smell like I haven’t washed for a month. Clothes come out of this machine dry (unlike the old dryer which cost £900 and somehow makes my clothes wetter than when it started 3 hours and 45 minutes earlier). My wife insisted on the WiFi washing machine (although it never connected to our WiFi and the LG App was useless) and the eco dryer (saving the planet and all that) .. unfortunately my wife died from colon cancer in May (no fault of the machines) so I get to choose how I wash my clothes now .. this machine? bloody brilliant .. didn’t give the purchase any thought at all .. arrived on time .. fitted it myself .. it does the job perfectly and exceptionally well .. nuff said .. buy one!

Apparently they tested this machine by standing 7 coins on they're sides and on full spin they all remained standing. Well i can confirm i did it with A £1 coin & A 50p & both passed the test.. Also the machine looks great. It washes clothes very well. So yes I'm very HAPPY With my new machine. Would i recommend it to others? I certainly would without hesitation. I've heard on several occasions buy cheap buy twice. Well i have already learned my lesson there. I beleive these machines are tested for a working life equivalent to 20 years of service the same as 2 other very well known German brands. I phoned and added the 2 years parts & manifacturers faults free 2 year Guarantee. I really hope i wont be needing to use it. I have to say for now I'm over the moon an easy 5 stars from me. Thank you.. Ohh the only thing i will say it weighs the same as A small house. Like yes it's seriously heavy. And read all the instructions well before 1st use make syre all cross suports / transit bolts/ bars and screws are removed & stored safely incase you ever move and have to package it for transit again. Not like my mother who bins everything then recently moved and had her machine damaged due to being moved incorrectly.. That's all folks. 😊👍🏻
