Saved a beloved piece!
I had this piece of jewelry bought on a favorite trip that we’d planned for more than ten years. It meant so much to me, but over time it began to tarnish, but no amount of silver polish helped. I’d long ago given up and sadly placed the pendant in a jewelry box for memory sake. Recently I’d decided to see what it would cost to have it re-plated, and found this product. I took a gamble on this and WOW did it do wonders! My favorite piece is now restored, shiny as new. It does not work on cheap metals—tried it on an old costume jewelry piece and it actually removed silver coloring off of it. Seems to work well on copper though—worked wonders on a penny. The giveaway that it’s going to work is that the beige liquid will turn black, and start to thicken up—even dry a bit. There’s zero reaction on cheap metals, but on copper and brass I get an instant reaction. Doesn’t take much, a little goes a long way. I’ve now applied several layers to my pendant and have a lovely patina.

Works better than expected - highly recommended!
This stuff is GREAT!. It took a 60 year old judging trophy from dingy and spotty to looking nearly new. It not only covered the areas where silver had been rubbed off but also polished the entire trophy. Wife also had some antique candlesticks and it worked well there as well. Requires a bit of elbow grease. Used a toothbrush to get into the details. Well worth the price.

This stuff doesn't work
I purchased this to give it a try despite the poor reviews. I should have listened to the reviews. This stuff absolutely doesn't work. The manufacturer claims it works o copper, and maybe it does if you want to silver coat some of your pennies, but in all practically, it is not useful for much else. I have tried this on several different pieces with no success. I have a silver plated serving tray that is silver on copper. Some of the silver is worn off from years of polishing, showing the pinkish copper below. When applying this product, it did nothing to cover the copper. Very dissatisfied with this product and certainly would not purchase again. Save your money as this stuff is somewhat expensive. It doesn't work.

How much can one really deposit on silverware
I have worked on more than 1,350 pieces of silvlerware using Nushine over & over again. I think I have added a thin coat of silver on pieces that are down to the base metal, but no more even though I have at times applied four times at a time and then turned around and down four more applications the next day on one little piece of silverware. I really like Nushine and believe that I have added a think coat of silver on spots that were totally down to base but no more no matter how many times I treat it. I still like using Nushine because I like the cleaning process which I think very good and after completing something like I described above and the silver looks sooooo pretty after the Nushine process, extra heat used and then silver polish washed and then after dry rub with the material I buy from Amazon to make it really shine. As I said I like so much about it but is there anyway or anybody who can get more of a deposit of silver. The articles I have read that clearly say unless you have some completely work down to the base metal which I assume that is copper on antique silverware silverplate between the years 1885 to 1930. I buy only those pieces that are worn in only small parts like on the back of spoons where they are worn because of resting on the table and I believe they call it on the heel. Love to hear from someone concerning this source or any other that can produce better results than just that first thin coat?

AMAZING PRODUCT!!
This stuff is absolutely AMAZING!!! I was concerned as the price is high for a product I’m not familiar with, but really brought back cosmetic jewelry I thought I was gonna have to get rid of! Works great on jewelry that is not silver but also does work on silver! Definitely worth the price and will buy again!!!

It works but only for one wearing!
I had a silver bracelet that was turning brassy around the ends. Used this product according to directions and it worked! Haven't any clue how long it will last but easily repeated if necessary. So happy and glad this was available. 1/28/25- I have discovered while this works immediately it does not last more than one wearing. Repeating each time I want to use my bracelet (I did discover my bracelet is silver-plated). A sterling silver bracelet only requires a polishing cloth to keep it shiny however.

NOT effective for the purpose described, BUT.......
Ok. This is a very powerful tarnish remover, which is why I am giving it two stars. I t definitely goes beyond the typical tarnish remover like the kind you dip jewelry in or the average cream. But I would NOT say this is a "plating solution" AT ALL. To call it that would mean something that goes much further than a heavy tarnish remover. I will admit, I have not tried any others and only embarked on salvaging some items which belonged to my grandmother, due to sentimental value, however, I would say this would be a good way to remove very heavy tarnish BEFORE using a true re-plating solution. It also seems to vary depending on the thickness of the item. It worked pretty well on a thin silver plate bread basket without too much effort, where a regular tarnish remover was not very effective. So dont expect any miracles on something weighty. And also, when I didnt get the results on the items with more heft, I expected that if I repeated the process again it would "fill- in" where the original plate was pours, like any layering material might do -- paint, porcelain??) But not with this. it just got more smudged and I spent most of the time getting smudges off of this antique item, I will try to add a pic, but it was pretty much a waste of the product and actually made it worse because the black debris from attempting to re-apply ended up on the cloth and my gloves. It also smells pretty bad, you MUST be in a ventilated are a near a window or outside. I am allergic to a lot of things, so very aware of this. I dont trust to use this completely inside and DO NOT use around pets -- NO WAY. Wash your hands immediately after using and it will dry your hands out, so do everything you can to protect them. All that being said, it is excellent at removing tough tarnish, but it is NOT effective at re-plating. These are two different things

It works on pure copper. Not sure how durable it is because what I tried to plate wasnt pure enough copper. It did work on a copper coin.
