This is my second box of compost bags and they work great. I only fill them about a third of the way so I can manually tie off the bag for my city compost container.

I was happy to find this product. I believe this is my third order of it. 4 stars because I wish the bags were a little thicker, but this is the thickest compostable/biodegradable bag I've been able to find. They are adequate for small bedroom wastebasket liners. I also use them for cat litter, but they need to be doubled-up for that.

For the most part the bags were fine, however as someone else posted I found at least 8 to 10 bags that was ripped once I had use almost half of the roll. It definitely was a factory defect. I decided to order another box, but this time I will unroll them and check before its to late to return. I think we should receive a credit or discount 🤔

These bags are an excellent composting bag for food scraps. Our city compost bin is picked up weekly and in the winter, I can keep these in the garage compost bucket and they are fine. The box the bags come in is also stored in the garage and inside the box, in 100-plus degree weather in the summer, the bags will not decay. However, in the garage, with food scraps in a bag, at that heat level, I found that sometimes they broke down so quickly that I ended up double-bagging in the hottest weeks of the summer months. This would not have been an issue if I kept my compost bucket inside my house, but I prefer to have it in the garage. So, what this means, is that the product breaks down quickly which is what you want. In the early summer months and any other time of the year, these bags are fine with one bag in the compost bucket. I like the size and strength of the box they come in and the way the bags are easy to roll out and tear off. They also open very easily. I will continue to order this product--I wish it was offered as a Subscribe & Save item.

Quality control issue

I wish they were larger but the size is my issue not the product. There is some difficulty keeping them in a 5 gallon bucket. I also would not use them for storage of any waste that has moisture in it. As soon as moisture hits the bag they begin to deteriorate like they're supposed to. I store my household food waste and the refrigerator until time I can put it out in our yard waste container. I transfer that waste to the plastic bags when it's time for them to collect it. I am making them work but will order the next largest size!

I use these in a composting toilet in my RV. I have a 5 gallon paint bucket for the holding containing. I expected that with a 6 gallon bag that these would easily fold over the outside of the bucket, not so. Fully pushed into the 5 gallon bucket only about 1 inch hangs over the outside of the bucket. This seems small as 1 inch of bag will not contain 1 gallon of liquid/other. I expected something like a kitchen trash bag size or slightly smaller. They are not going to be able to be used for my needs. I wanted something that I could pull the bag out and toss the entire thing into the compost pile. With these, I can't do that as they simply aren't large enough. I ended up using a regular plastic bag. Do they work? Yes, but be aware that they are not as large as you might expect. They were a rather expensive lesson to find out that they aren't going to be large enough for what I need. Not the manufacturer's fault, but yes it is because I don't believe they are sized correctly.

Updated review. After using different composite bags, I can say this one beats all of them. I learned that I wasn’t using it in the correct size bin and that’s why it didn’t fit properly. This is the most secure compost bags I have used over the last year. It doesn’t leak at all!!

Great quality and good quantity for the price.

While these bags were a little more expensive than I had hoped, they are very durable and fit perfectly in the container I bought them for. I'm also very glad that I'm not adding to the dreaded "plastic bag" problem every time I use one!

Very good compostable bag- as per City standards - wish it had loops on the side to fix the bag to the bin. Slides inward with the weight of the garbage. I have used a rubber band around the bin to hold the bag. Recommend buying.
