Why did you pick this product vs others?:It's made lawn and garden care much easier and more efficient. The metal mesh drum is very sturdy and spreads compost, peat moss, and even fine mulch evenly without clumping. The T-shaped handle offers great control and is comfortable even during long use.What I really like is how easy it is to load and roll. The latches are secure but easy to open when refilling. It rolls smoothly across my lawn, and the openings are fine enough that I don’t get large chunks or debris dumped out. It's perfect for topdressing my yard and reseeding areas. After using it, my grass looks more even and healthy.

Easy to assemble in a few minutes. Very well built/good quality. I have been researching fixing my lawn myself and this is a must have to do it right with spreading compost over seeds. This rolls really easy and the side latches make it easy to load. Recommended!

Pain in the butt to put together because I did not get assembly instructions. Item is WAY smaller than it appears in photos.

Junkie product. In theory it should be great. Perhaps it’s the poor metal material and the lack of ease when rotating. Not good. We spread with other things.

This thing was a pain to assemble... not because it was hard... but because it was made worse by the lousy instructions. I was able to figure everything out, but I did use my own tools instead of the throwaway tools they included.I was surprised how sturdy this was, and it actually works pretty well. I have a storage building full of lawn and garden tools, but this was my first experience with a device like this.I own Scott’s best spreader and will continue to use it for fertilizer, seed, pelletized lime, etc. However, if you need to spread manure or compost... this is really handy.

It works. But forget the included wrenches and hex/screwdriver. Throw those out. You will want a cordless drill, phillips bit, and a socket set. Also the instructions are nearly useless. But it's pretty simple and onceassembled (took me two tries) it works fine.

This compost spreader is a fantastic item to have around! It is not difficult to manage and can spread a variety of items. A useful size that holds quite a bit of materials. It’s not too heavy or cumbersome and functions great!
