Great reid.

Peter Reid was a great manager at Sunderland, loved him and the team. Good book to read with his memories of a great footballing career, and manager. Nice bits of humour added .I thought it was a good book.

Nice easy read, great football book, the way it should be

Traditional, pure football at it's best thank you Peter, you were a great player and local servant to Everton, thank you

An honest and entertaining review of a life in football

This is an excellent read, Everton fan or not (which I have been since 1968). An honest - and at times heart rending - review of a life spent playing, coaching and managing at high levels. Great descriptions not only of football related aspects of Peter’s life, but also of the impact on his family; of the impact of politics at the time; and the importance of family and friends in order to be successful. Strongly recommended…!!

Blarney

Not so much a biography but blarney. I was born in Wimborne Road but don't share Peters illogical political views which seem to be the mainstay of this book. I would suggest Derek Hatton Peters hero did more to damage liverpools reputation than any tory ever did.

Once a Blue always a Blue

As a lifelong Everton fan I must admit I'm biased. This book is as likeable as the man himself. It brought back many happy memories. Peter Reid's stories about Howard Kendall confirmed everything I thought and heard about the man. I would have loved Peter Reid to manage Everton which unfortunately never happened. His spells as Man City and Sunderland manager suggest he had the ability to take the reigns at a top team. This book will appeal to fans of any club accept perhaps those 'across the park'.

Not the best book but not the worst either. It gets 5 stars because...

It gets 5 stars because I wanted to read more. Most other books I'm quite happy when they're finished. I support Arsenal but I have to say that I'm astonished he's not involved with Everton. I've watched them play this year and they have no passion. He never mentions it in his book but I just don't understand it. He's blue until he dies. Good book to read - he went on about his injuries a bit but I guess he had too. I would recommend.
