Now my wife can listen and I can sleep in peace.
So good I bought multiple pairs! Perfect for sleep, concerts, and football games. Verified Purchase My wife likes to listen to podcasts and YouTube videos at night to fall asleep. I eventually decided that she shouldn’t have to suffer through wearing uncomfortable headphones every single night just so I could get some peace, so I figured I would give these earplugs a shot. They work incredibly well, and I’m finally able to sleep with absolutely no issues. In fact, I liked them so much that I actually went ahead and bought a few more pairs to leave in the car. They have become my go-to for concerts and heading out to Ford Field for Lions games. Here is why they are awesome: The Snug, Flush Fit for Sleep: I was worried they would hurt my ears or fall out when my head hit the pillow, but the V-shape design sits flush. I can roll over onto my side without feeling any painful pressure. Find Your Perfect Size: They come with four different tip sizes (XS to L), so it was easy to swap them out and find the exact fit that creates a solid seal. They don't budge all night. Blocks Nighttime Audio: They cut out the podcast and video audio perfectly so I can sleep , but they don't leave you completely deaf—I can still hear my morning alarm with no problem. Perfect for Loud Events & Travel: They travel incredibly well. When I use them at loud games or concerts, they do an amazing job of balancing out the massive wall of sound so it doesn't hurt my ears, yet they still allow me to easily hear people when they are talking directly to me. Convenient Case: The little storage case they come with is super handy. One sits right on my nightstand so I can grab them easily before turning the lights out, and the others stay perfectly protected in the car. Whether you are trying to block out a partner’s late-night phone habits without forcing them to wear headphones, or just looking for great hearing protection at a stadium, buy these. They saved my sleep and my hearing!

great sound proofing
GAMECHANGER!!! i live in tight quarters with a teenage drummer and a roommate whose bedroom is separated from mine by a vinyl divider. before the earplugs, her alarm, grunting, even cracking bones woke me up. i was skeptical at first. they’re not going to block out everything. before i got these i was using airpod pros to try and sleep. those are uncomfortable when you’re a side sleeper like me. they’re soft, fit snuggly in the ear, hardly feel them. and they muffle enough sound that you can actually sleep! last night drummer boy had a party, his room is across from mine. hard music, kids screaming. once i put the earplugs on, muffled sounds only. the case is durable, extra tips i keep in the box. the most important thing about these, their comfort and sound suppression. i recommend these 110%. really surprised by the quality and value.

Comfortable, secure, and surprisingly good at noise blocking
TL;DR: These earplugs solved a very specific but frustrating problem for me: needing different-sized tips in each ear without constantly mixing them up. The clearly marked left and right sides, plus the fixed positions in the case, make them incredibly easy to use quickly when I'm overwhelmed by noise when out and about. They are also much more comfortable and practical than other options: they fit tiny, and will definitely be good for side-sleeping. As for the noise blocking, they’re better than I expected, especially considering I usually need triple-flange "Christmas tree" style earplugs to get a proper seal. They're definitely expensive for passive silicone earplugs, but the comfort, usability, quality and solid noise reduction still make them worthwhile as a primary, good-quality pair. PROS: 🥳 Clear left/right design makes using different-sized tips effortless 🥳 Very comfortable and secure, even for larger ear canals 🥳 Good noise reduction without feeling bulky or hard to insert 🥳 Case is small, practical and secure, great for quick use outdoors CONS: 😩 Expensive for passive silicone earplugs 😩 Noise isolation is slightly weaker than high-end filtered earplugs DETAILED REVIEW: FIT AND DESIGN: One of my ears needs a larger tip than the other, and most earplugs make this surprisingly annoying to deal with. Usually, I'd have to stop and carefully compare both tips before putting them in the correct ear. That becomes a pain when you're outside and need to put them in quickly before some painfully loud vehicle or screaming child passes by 😅 These completely solved that problem for me. The left and right earplugs are clearly marked, impossible to confuse, especially because each fits only its designated side, and each has its own dedicated spot in the case. That means I can safely use two different tip sizes without constantly checking which is which. It sounds minor, but for daily use it makes a huge difference. What's tricky for me is that the "wrong" size can still kind of fit in either ear. The only real sign something is off is that more outside noise starts leaking through after a while. So having a system that prevents accidental swapping is genuinely useful. Having said this, I would really like one of these brands to include more "granular" sizing on the upper end rather than on the lower end. I'm 6'4", so S and XS is unusable for me; but I would generally benefit from better-fitting tips that fall between M and L. That is to say, I feel there's a much more pronounced size difference between M and L than XS and S. COMFORT AND EAR SEAL: I honestly doubted these would work for me at all, as I have tested several similar one-flange earplugs and they either don't fit well or are very lacklustre in terms of blocking noise. I have larger ear canals, and normally the only earplugs that seal properly for me are the triple-flange ones that look like little Christmas trees. So I was rather surprised when these still worked really well. They probably don't block quite as much noise as my higher-end filtered earplugs from a Swiss brand I bought in Europe (those are triple-flange, as well), but the difference is smaller than I expected. These still block enough noise to make being outside much more manageable and less overwhelming. And because they're small and comfortable, then it’s definitely a plus, and any small trade-off in terms of noise suppression is acceptable. So the comfort is a huge advantage, too. I can wear them longer without getting irritated, and they feel less intrusive than bulkier designs. You really don't notice them when they're in. The shape well into your ear because they're soft. They hardly weigh anything. And they're barely noticeable for people around you (if that's an issue for you). This all means that they're definitely great for side-sleeping; for this case, they're the best I've seen. If anything, I would really recommend them for sleeping. PRACTICALITY: The shape is genuinely well thought out. Instead of large loops, these use small arrow-like grips that are actually easier to hold and guide into the ear. I found them more ergonomic overall. The case is also excellent. The earplugs slide in easily and stay secure: even if you open it up, turn it upside down and start shaking the case, they won’t drop! This matters a lot if you're trying to put them away or take them out quickly while out and about, especially with urgency when you know a horrible sound is coming. I never felt like they were going to fall out of the case when opening it in a hurry. And, let me tell you, I've dropped several others, several times… You never want to put in your ear a dirty plug. VALUE FOR MONEY: This is probably the hardest part to justify. These are expensive for what are passive silicone earplugs. For instance, I've owned decent in-ear JBL headphones that cost about half as much, and those contain actual electronics and drivers instead of just molded silicone. Still, the design solves a real usability problem for me, and the comfort plus convenience ended up mattering more than I expected. So I might not buy these as my one-and-only solution, but I will have them handy for when I feel I need a high-end, comfortable, earplug. (If they last very long then, yeah, maybe I could buy a couple of pairs to have lying around.) FINAL THOUGHTS: These won't be the absolute strongest noise-blocking earplugs available, but they strike a really good balance between comfort, practicality, and effective noise reduction. They're especially worth considering if you struggle with different ear sizes or need something fast and easy to use when overstimulated in noisy environments. If anything, I would really recommend them for sleeping. The price feels high, but the thoughtful design ended up making daily use much less frustrating.

Delivers on a great experience! Look no further!
First, my concerns: I worked the night shift for 10 years, so I cannot sleep without some form of sound reduction. Secondly, I have very small ear canals so most devices don’t work or are painful by morning. Thirdly, I have a Treg ring, so more morning pain if the device presses against it. I was cautious that this would work for me, as I’ve used either the sponges people use at the gun range, or a rolled tissue for the most part, neither a great solution. But I am absolutely blown away by the quality and comfort of these earbuds! Although not a thing I knew I needed, the tiny case is AWESOME! It has a loop so fits on a key chain that I put on a carabiner so I can clip it to my headboard or the bar across my lampshade. So, no searching under the bed after a cat has walked by, no worrying about losing them. A really great and thoughtful addition!! Now on to the earbuds themselves. Firstly, I put the smallest bud on and tried them on. They fit well enough, but the real test is an entire night. The little V is genius! It sits unobtrusively in the ear and doesn’t bother my treg. It didn’t shift or fall out during the night, didn’t become uncomfortable at any point, I almost didn’t want to take them out they were so comfortable!! I had a great nights sleep and woke rested and happy. You may ask yourself if it’s worth the price, or if another brand will do. But my answer is: it’s worth twice the price and I’ve never tried another brand that I could tolerate all night, so yes it’s absolutely worth it, and no, don’t settle for a substandard experience. Look no further! This is the one to get!! (Don’t tell Alpine I said it’s worth twice what I paid. 🤫)

Good but Not Great Ear Plugs
I’m a sensitive sleeper and have used disposable foam ear plugs for years as part of my sleep routine. I’ve been looking for plugs that I can reuse and decided to give these a try. What Works: 1. The plugs fit in the ear easily and securely. They are very comfortable to wear and lightweight. 2. They really stay in all night. I move around a lot when I sleep and these plugs stayed in place. 3. Adjusting the buds is relatively easy. I love that these come with four different sizes of buds. Changing them is a quick process and it is worth trying different sizes to ensure you are getting the best fit. What Could Improve 1. The case is tiny and only holds the plugs not the additional buds. Would be nice to have a case that holds everything. 2. The plugs definitely damper some sound, but I did not find them as effective as disposable foam ear plugs. Bottom line: while these didn’t provide as much sound blocking as I had hoped for sleeping, I will keep these in my rotation especially when traveling. I do think these work well for other applications like focusing at work or at a cafe, but I needed more for sleeping. That said these are a good value and seem quite durable.

Love these - they’ve saved my sleep!
I have tried SO. Many. Earplugs. For sleep. These are hands down the best and most comfortable, even over my Loop brand. The V-shape nestles in comfortably around the concha (the hard bump in the recessed part of the ear). I don’t wake up with tender or sore spots from hard plastic or to find that one or both plugs fell out during the night. They block sound super well, also. I use the medium size ends for sleeping (my husband can watch TV and I don’t hear a thing) and the small size to block out noise during work (I can hear what I need to but no annoying background noise). My ears are the smaller side - regular Apple AirPods won’t stay in and fall out (I don’t know if that’s super helpful but did want to point out these work for smaller ears)! Definitely recommend - I will probably buy some extras in case they sell out!

Hard to insert, caused discomfort
Pros: --Nice travel case is included --4 different sizes of plug are included, to find the best fit --Noise reduction is good, but not as good as simple foam-type plugs. Cons: --I found it very difficult to insert the plugs, and the "instructions" on the product page are not very helpful. These are unusually shaped earplugs, and it's not obvious how to insert them correctly, but the instructions say only " Gently insert the earplug into the ear, making sure the V-shaped body is properly nested within the ear canal." One shouldn't need a mirror to make sure ear plugs are inserted correctly. --As a side sleeper, I found the V-shaped base frequently caught on the pillow case, causing discomfort. --Frequently, I would wake up to find the plug still in my ear, but in a position where it no longer blocked noise, requiring another struggle to get the plug back in. Obviously, everyone's ears are different, so I can only talk about my own experience, but I found these earplugs uncomfortable and difficult to use. I will be switching back to foam plugs.

Comfortable, cheap, reusable
I use earplugs nightly for sleep, have what I consider average sized ears, am a side sleeper, and very sensitive to noise. Pros -Reusable: I’ve used disposable foam and that got pricy at 1 use only and 10 use wax which was technically cheaper if I could use them 10x. Unfortunately I produce a lot of earwax so it felt gross to use more than 6-7 times so I wasn’t getting my money’s worth -Comfortable: I side sleeper and the medium that comes standard fits perfectly. The weird V shape keeps it in place and doesn’t add odd pressure like music earbuds (I’ve tried AirPods and similar). I find it 100x more comfortable than foam which felt too long and stuck out. It was better than wax which after too many uses kept falling out -Cheap: quality is good. Nothing special and not super pricy. It’s worth the one time cost (maybe two if I need to replace in many years) Cons (causing one star loss) -Noise cancelling ability: you get what you pay for. This obviously states the decibel levels it blocks. Compared to wax this barely blocks sound. Do not expect to sleep through traffic, loud snoring partner, baby cries, or anything serious. I luckily sleep with white noise machines and it combines well enough that my brain will shut off and let me sleep through snoring. I wish they could make this exact design block out some more noise -V shape: this thing is NOT customizable. If your ears are slightly smaller or bigger than what this was designed for it may fall out or be very uncomfortable. I will update if anything changes as it’s only been a month of use

Review: Alpine Silence Oordopjes

Comfort, value for money, hard case
These are the best by far I’ve used. x4 sizes. Really comfortable. Left and right ear specific. Really reduce the peripheral noise. I can hear the radio straight on. They completely shut out the boiler, fridge etc. Matt black looks cool. Easy to clean. Work them on and off throughout the day. Come with a hard case which has a loop that can be attached to a set of keys. I thought they were overpriced but I now think they are well worth the money in comparison to what other manufacturers charge for a simile thing.

Small ear friendly.
Surprisingly decent! Can still hear some things faintly if you have someone that snores loudly, but if you’re anxious and don’t want everything completely dead silent then this is a good buy. They don’t give me that soreness in the morning when you wake up and lay flush to the ear. My ears are very small too so I found this to be a good purchase.
