Very happy with it, fast, responsive, easy to set up. Loads of compatibility, manages perfectly various codecs, qualities, subtitle types. Massive improvement over the cheaper chromecast which started to slow down almost immediately. Would highly recommend if you are thinking about upgrading. Remote is a bit big and I don't understand why the volume button was moved, but it's a personal preference.

small, fast, reliable and much snappier than a fire stick 4k with more storage and more ram. For £99 it’s a great item and good value for money. I used this to upgrade my 2019 samsung smart tv and it’s brilliant, it’s compatible with any tv that has a hdmi input and it’s very easy to use! I would 100% recommend this.

I’ve used the Google Streamer 4K for around 6 months and I have been largely happy with it. Navigation is fast, the remote is comfortable to use and pretty much every mainstream app is available from the App Store. I have a full fibre service connected by Ethernet so no sign of buffering issues (I’m unable to comment on WiFi performance, never used it). A few things I’ve noticed, the remote has a semi regular habit of becoming unresponsive requiring the removal of batteries then reinserting them. Note that if you subscribe to NOW TV the Google Streamer 4K cannot currently deliver NOW 4K HDR or Atmos however, it can deliver 4K HDR and Atmos on many other streaming services such as Netflix and HBO MAX. I think it’s a good device, some may think it’s a bit overpriced compared to similar devices.

For Context, I have come from using the top spec shield pro, which I sold to purchase this. Some may think that was a mad decision, and if you use the shield for gaming and/or having your own Plex server then I would agree. In terms of the basics though, ie streaming from apps, and also stremio this does the job and I would say better than the shield. The device is buttery smooth. The user interface is infinitely better than the shield's aging version of android. I have previously had issues with the shield not displaying certain Dolby vision video files. This has absolutely no issues with any codec I throw at it. It will pass through all Dolby format audio, which displays correctly on my sound system as Atmos etc.. It will not pass through DTS however my sound system does not accept dts anyway, and the shield has no issues processing DTS codecs and passing to the soundbar as pcm. The CEC volume and power control works better than it did on the shield. I cannot find a personal fault with this device at all, and the only con I would say is you can't set up your own Plex server or game on it, but that is not an issue for me personally.

The Google TV Streamer is just what I wanted and needed to transform my 10 year old smart TV into a modern Google TV. It's very quick and responsive, and I like how all my streaming services are in one place. The price is good and it was easy to set up. I am 100% satisfied with my purchase and recommend the device. The fact I could pay for it over 5 months when buying it through Amazon was a real bonus and I wish Amazon would offer it for more items.

Purchased this to use with Disneyplus - And will the product page shows Disneyplus in use, the Disney+ Icon, and the Disney+ help page lists this device as compatible with the service IT IS NOT compatible with the 4K Disney+ offering (Disneyplus 4.20.2+rc1-2025.12.09 which was pushed to the device on installation renders 4K unwatchable, jumps, skips, freezes, and that's on a 1Gbps fibre connection), after 4 hours support chat to both Google and Disney the work round is to use Disney+ and other streaming services in 1080p... WHAT A WASTE, not fit for purpose, not as advertised, and useless support. And as a bonus google are telling me the device is a second hand unit, yet Amazon sold it as new!

I am surprised how good this streamer is. It took no more than 5 minutes to set it up. I purchased it as a replacement for the damaged Firestick i had and I am very pleased with its performance so far.

For the price i would have expected better- the box came damaged- Dolby vision is glitchy and lags on Disney plus and apple tv apps. The app support however is great and I love the google eco system - i just think the price might not be justified with these shortcomings

I am.very happy with the purchase. The device is a no nonsense approach. Minimalistic design and very practical. User interface is nice and simple, content loads up faster. Unboxing time and setup time was almost same. I bought this because I wanted a device which is independent of TV and can connect to my AV receiver else could have bought Amazon Firestick also. If one looks at the initial cost and compares , it may look bit pricey but given that it is from Google and offers a wider platform for choice of apps and better hardware, I feel the additional amount will not hurt. The remote is designed very esthetically and pratically.

Today the device has delivered and I am writing this review after the initial setup for my kids request. I have been an avid admirer of Mi box 4k which I purchased is 2020 and was working still like a charm, but unfortunately it got confiscated at the airport in suspicion of a power bank. I tried for all possible options branded options available in the market, but to my surprise only fire tv was flooded in the market and hard or impossible to get brands like mi, realme and Motorola streaming device as all were out of stock till date. So back to story I found this google tv box got available on Amazon and ordered immediately. The setup was a charm, although I saw reviews of how hard it was to setup. And believe me I have done the setup from my iPhone 14 Pro and within 10-15 mins it was done. Still more to explore but this device has all the power and working like a charm. Really happy with the initial feel , lot to explore - the side load capability for 3rd party apps etc. Will resume my feedback.

J'ai cru qu'il allait remplacer mon décodeur Orange vers ma télé dernier cri. Mais c'est un appareil qui fait un "traitement informatique complexe" de ce qui arrive de la Livebox. Et il envoie un signal à la télé. En théorie il rend le décodeur inutile. Mais en pratique les télés à qui il envoie son signal de sortie ont un mal de chien à synchroniser parfaitement son et image (sauf si vous avez une télé à 10 000 euros, qui a aussi fait un passage entre les mains d'ingénieurs google à Mountain View). Alors je suis revenu à mon "vieux" décodeur Orange, et les gens à l'écran ont les mouvements de la bouche et les sons de nouveau synchronisés.
