I often find it challenging for authors to maintain suspense in such narratives, knowing the protagonist's survival is a given, and vividly portraying high-stakes action can be a hurdle. However, Kaylie navigates this brilliantly, exceeding even the high bar set by her previous work, "Phantasma." The subtle nods to "Phantasma" sprinkled throughout "Enchantra" were a delightful treat for me, but the latter shines brightly entirely on its own. The initial clash between Genevieve and the brooding Rowin Silver is electric, setting the stage for a tumultuous and utterly captivating journey. Rowin embodies the irresistible "shadow daddy" trope, and every possessive endearment had me swooning. Yet, it's Genevieve who truly steals the show for me. Kaylie has crafted a heroine who is not only relatable with her insecurities but also fiercely independent, witty, and incredibly brave. Her curvy physique and sharp tongue make her a refreshing and empowering protagonist. As Genevieve and Rowin navigate the treacherous and beautifully described labyrinth of the deadly game, their forced alliance under a fake courtship blossoms into a sizzling attraction. The tension is palpable, heightened by the constant threat of the game and the secrets Rowin guards closely. "Enchantra" expertly weaves together thrilling action, undeniable chemistry, and a compelling mystery, leaving you breathless and utterly obsessed. This book is a must-read!

I definitely get the Knives Out comparison, but I liked how in this the family is lowkey crazy but endearing. I didn't love Genevieve from the glimpse we got in the first book but I had said I was hoping this would change my mind about her and it did! She's sassy and so sure of herself, I appreciated that she's plus sized and while it's made clear it also isn't her only defining feature, and she's so determined. The writing is gorgeous, the setting is immersive with the mansion in winter and feeling the tension all the time both with the hunting games and the romance. There were a few scenes that felt sort of copy and pasted from book one though and after a while a few of the other scenes felt repetitive. I really liked the characters, I would genuinely devour a book from each and every one of the siblings. Rowin didn't top my baby Blackwell but he is a great MMC, he's quiet and comes off as grumpy but isn't an a*hole, he's caring and he really lets Genevieve shine and be her wild self. I loved that we got to see snippets of Ophelia and Blackwell🫶🏻 my loves I like the way these books are romances but while the romance is great, it's well balanced with the plot. There is tension and yearning and amazing spice but also the stakes are high and the action is almost constant with some sweeter scenes sprinkled in. And the ending? I honestly didn't see that coming, I was hooked! And as I said in my previous review, I love that these are dark romances that prove consent can still be a key focus and the love interest is caring and not abusive This is a fast paced book that will pull you in and keep you hooked the whole time. I read it in two sittings and it would have been one if I hadn't been dragged away! It felt like a movie playing out in my head I was so immersed Overall I preferred Phantasma but I loved Enchantra and I can't wait for the next!

I loved book one, but this book felt like it expanded the world and characters to a whole new level, and I'm now so excited for the next one! Frankly give me a book for each of the Silvers please 🙏 ☠️🖤☠️🖤 Premise: Genevieve Grimm heads to Italy to seek out a man who had been writing to her dead mother, in hopes of understanding her place in the paranormal world. However the day she enters his home, Enchantra, happens to be the day an annual hunt from hell begins. Where the cursed immortal Silver siblings fight to the death. And the only way out for a mortal, is to win. But the game is only for the Silver family. Therefore, in order to join the game and not be killed instantly, she must marry the mysterious Rowin Silver and enter as his wife. ☠️🖤☠️🖤 I adored it!!! My chaotic thoughts: ☠️ The world: I feel the first book just touched the surface of the hellish creatures we could meet, but this book opened our eyes fully! And not only did we get an adventure to Italy, we also got to see hell! 🖤 The romance: I do love a fake marriage, especially when the two characters bicker so much. The banter was everything! I loved their dynamic, and Vivi’s brattish and confident nature. I highlighted so much of their dialogue 🤣 And I know we see a lot of shadow daddies in romantasy, but Rowin gives a lot of them a run for their money… “Shadows can only be seen in the presence of light. I worry when you leave, there will be no one left to see me.” 🫠 ☠️ The games: I loved these games which were essentially rounds of hide and seek but with an enchanted dagger! Good old family bonding! They were a lot easier to follow than the last book but still addictive. And gave us lots of banterous and hot downtime 🥰 Plus there were twists I did NOT see coming! 🖤 The family: I demand a book for each of the Silver siblings! Never have I fallen in love with so many side characters… send help!! You can already see parts of their personalities and trauma coming through and I can't wait to see what happens to each of them 🥰 Plus I loved the return of Ophelia and Salem. With Salem just adoring Ophie 🥰🥰🥰 Ughhhhh please can I have book 3 now 🙏🙏🙏 I have many theories… But I know for sure that Sevin will not disappoint 😍 ☠️🖤☠️🖤 Also notes on the audio narration: Laura Horowitz could narrate every book for me frankly! Her range of voices, taking on the Italian vibes at times and so many different family members is so impressive. And not one felt out of place, making it such an immersive listen! 5 stars for her as always 🫶

Oh my. There are no words that encapsulates how much I love this book. I absolutly loved every second. Every character was amazing. I loved the dynamic between the FMC and the MMC was perfection. The siblings all had distinct characters and were great in their own ways. I found the FMC much more likable them in the first book and hearing her perspective on herself added more to her character. I'd probably say this was my favourite read of this year so far. I cannot wait for the next book.

Wow. I enjoyed book 1 and understood the hype but didn’t have my mind blown. Then I started reading Enchantra and lemme tell you. THIS was what I was looking for 😍 Genevieve, who was alright as supporting cast in book 1, really comes into her own in this. Her personality, whilst difficult at first, was perfect for the vibe of Enchantra, leading me to actually love her come the end. Rowin, our MMC. Sigh. He joins the book boyfriend shelf. He was such an interesting MMC to read. His whole motivation and backstory was so cool and had so many layers, he was just written so well. Also Rowin’s siblings? Every single one of them were just awesome. Truly some of my favourite supporting cast from a book. Despite this being a standalone story, I fell completely in love with all of the siblings (Sevin and Covid are both standouts, can they have their own books pls). And the spice? SINFUL. SIN. FUL. SO GOOD OMG I was fanning myself the entire time. Rowin the man you are. Just one word to describe him: piercings. And if your mind went somewhere, then yeah. You would be right 👀🤭 Also the relationship between the MCs was really perfect. They just worked so well together. The plot of the story was brilliant. Different variations of hide and seek? Genius. The stakes were high, the tensions were high, the quality was HIGH. So enjoyable. I ate it UP

Enchantra is a dazzling sequel, following Vivi as she finds herself trapped in a deadly game of hide and seek 👀 the setting is a beautiful, sprawling castle-like grounds in Tuscany 😍 I didn’t expect to love a book about Vivi as she didn’t capture my interest too much in book one, but that changed super quickly as her story got going. She has a traumatic, complex backstory and deep set trust issues- it was great to see her come into her own and gain some confidence in herself. Rowin is everything you could ask for honestly. The witty banter, the ruthless flirting, the ‘touch her and die’ moments - I loved it 🙌 Their connection is authentic and enjoyable. The Silver’s are a little found family moment for Vivi and I loved it 😂 I liked that we saw her develop relationships with the siblings outside of Rowin - she has her own conversations and budding friendships. I want more of this! I want to see them hunt for the cure and to see Salem confront his father - I have SUCH high hopes for book three 👀

I enjoyed this book just as much as I did Phantasma, but for different reasons. For example, I absolutely loved the MFC, Genevieve, in this book far more than I did Ophelia in the previous one. Ophelia, to me, was a bit too sharp and rude throughout her story, whereas Genevieve is much more loveable, not to mention witty and full of sarcasm, and she definitely made me laugh the whole way through. However, whilst I preferred the MFC in this book, I did prefer the games that were in Phantasma. I felt sorry for the family being trapped in such a horrible cycle, and that emotional element definitely added weight to the story. The games themselves, though, felt a little underwhelming and not nearly as well-developed or intense as the ones in Phantasma. They did not grip me in the same way. Although it was different from Phantasma, it still had similarities that gave the same vibes, which kept me hooked and made these books such fun, easy, unique reads. I definitely cannot wait for book three!!!! Of course, the MMC, Rowin, is just as good as Genevieve. His attitude, his banter and his sarcasm all match her perfectly. And excuse me, those shadows of his… YES PLEASE! The dynamic between the two was brilliant and genuinely funny, but close to the end my heart broke a little for them. I may have shed a tear or two because I did not like how it was going. And oh my days, the side characters, the Silver family, are pure dysfunction in the best possible way. They are so entertaining that I would absolutely love to be a fly on the wall during one of their gatherings. The sibling relationships are pure banter and chaos. Unfortunately, just like Phantasma, the ending felt rushed. It could have done with a few more chapters. I also wanted more of Barrington Silver and Tessie Grimm’s backstories, as well as more insight into the rift between the identical shadow-wraith twins, Remi and Rowin. But overall, I truly loved this book. 🩷🩷 Romance 🌶️🌶️ Spice

Oh this is for sure one of my 5 ⭐️ read! I enjoyed every second of it. The story was so entertaining. The games were fun to read. I thought Rowin and Genevieve were interesting characters. The tension between them you can cut with a knife. I think why made this even better was how intriguing all the other characters were. Every component to this story was entertaining. Also this was a bit of a slow burn and I think I really enjoyed that. Loved this read!! 🌶️🌶️.5/5

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ | 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ I absolutely devoured this book. Enchantra was dark, addictive, and ridiculously fun from start to finish. The banter was sharp, witty, and perfectly balanced with the darker undertones of the story. Every interaction crackled with tension and chemistry, making the romance feel intense and earned. The games were one of my favorite parts, genuinely thrilling, high-stakes, and so well executed that I couldn’t put the book down. Each challenge raised the tension and pulled me deeper into the story. The spice level hit just right for me. Steamy, emotionally charged, and woven naturally into the plot instead of overpowering it. The romance and power dynamics kept me hooked the entire time. And that ending… absolutely brilliant. Shocking, bold, and impossible to forget. The kind of ending that makes you immediately want to reread everything and desperately need the next book. If you love dark romantasy with clever banter, dangerous games, intense chemistry, and a jaw-dropping finale, Enchantra is a must-read. One of my standout reads and an easy five stars.
