Does what it says and does it well
Having just upgraded my Internet to 2 Gb, I needed faster switches. The switch checks all the boxes. It has the right amount of ports, and I’m getting the speed that I expect. Build quality is fine. Set up was very easy and functionality is perfect.Excellent value for money

Fast & easy
How does one review an unmanaged switch? It works, it routes 2.5gbps between machines at full speed. It's small and easy to set up, and inexpensive, so it's great :)

Does the job but not ideal
It does work, and is very cheap. You're not going to get the absolute maximum possible performance compared to a quality name brand switch that costs twice as much, but if you don't care about squeezing every last ounce of performance, this switch should do fine.

Great price, not so great experience
I purchased this switch to take advantage of 2.5gb speeds on existing cat5e cabling. Plugged it in, hooked up the ethernet and everything worked great. Fast forward a few days to when I fire up a game on my computer and start experiencing significant lag and ping spikes thinking it had something to do with my router settings. I opened up the game on another device on the same network only to have it run completely fine, so I began focusing on my computer and trying different ethernet adapters and changing system settings with no luck. I finally realized that I hadn’t tested the connection from the ethernet jack to the switch and used an ethernet adapter to plug into the switch using a laptop which showed the same issues as my PC. I bypassed the switch and hooked up directly to the wall jack and everything worked perfectly. Little did I know the source of all my problems was this little unmanaged switch that I didn’t think could mess with my connection this badly. I ended up bringing out my old gigabit switch to test and plugged in all my devices, and everything started working again like before. I learned my lesson on cheaping out on networking gear and got myself another 2.5gb switch from a reputable company and have faced zero issues with that one so far. You’re better off spending an extra $30 or $40 on something that won’t randomly fail on you.

Good managed 10gbs RJ45 switches
I purchased four of these RealHD eight port managed 10gbps switches. The build quality seems good (heavy metal enclosure, RJ45 ports and other fit and finish good.)The management through the web page is somewhat basic, but does what it needs to.I'm getting great throughput and no problems with a large number of different interfaces connected to them auto negotiating appropriately. The power cable is harder to get seated in the IEC socket on the back than a lot of other equipment and the cord is shorter than I needed for a couple of them but both were minor issues.Of the four switches, I did have one that would lose its config when powered down. I contacted support (through cctvsupply, inc, which surprised me originally as amazon mentions it as the RealHD store.)They called back quickly and shipped a replacement out very quickly with a label to return the switch with the problem.Excellent support. Five stars for the support!

Perfect for the home office!
Pretty much all PC's today have 2.5GB Ethernet Ports and even though Wi-Fi continues to improve, it still can't compete with a solid ethernet connection. For the best connection possible for your PC, get this REAL HD 5 port 2.5 GB switch and plug it into the 2.5GB port on your router using one of the SMOLINK brand Cat 8 cables...all very reasonably prices. Make sure your PC(s) as well are plugged into the switch with CAT 8 SMOLINKs. The SMO's are solid oxygen free single strand copper with double insulation...they're the ones to get. I went from 485 Mb/s to over 2200 MB/s. Best possible upgrade for around 50 bucks.UPDATE 5/13/2025: Like the performance of the first one so much, I just purchased my 2nd. Again with CAT8 going to other side of the house (80ft) and REAL HD 2.5GHz switch on either side, throughput is superlative and rock stable.
