Recently took it on vacation. It worked excellent, no skips, picture was sharp and definitely easy to use. Money well spent.

i am VERY happy with this player. not the cheapest but it's not easy to find a player that also plays blu ray. note that it arrived as PROSCAN player instead of the SYLVYANA, which worried me because i thought it would be inferior product, but after some research, saw it's the same company. dvds and blu ray play perfectly. sound on speakers is LOUD on the PROSCAN at only 10 (goes up to 60 i think?). i also had some shows downloaded onto a USB stick and those, too, play perfectly, bringing up the menu and episodes to choose from. the player is perfectly silent when playing (can't hear the disc or vent whirling at all) - it whirls a bit when the disc is starting up and when you press stop. remote and controls on player itself both work great.

I needed a player that I could take with me that would play blu-rays in addition to dvds. This machine works well -- good battery life, easy to operate, and good picture quality. The pictures could be a bit sharper, but if you work on the angle of the screen (which is wonderful that you can move it in so many ways) you can normally get a very good show. Overall a very good buy.
