Nicewell Portable Electric Kettle for Travel Global Use 110-240V

Nice, beautiful, portable kettle. I gave it a trial run since I will be traveling soon. This heats up quickly once you figure out how it works. Once you set the temperature you want, LIGHTLY press the on/off button and it should turn red, indicating that it is heating. I’m not used to using gadgets with flat buttons. So, note, if you press the button too hard, it will not function properly. I didn’t try the function that keeps the water at a certain temperature as I am more concerned about making hot water for cup of tea or instant oatmeal. I heated the water with the kettle open as suggested, I chose 212 degrees, since it didn’t seem like enough water. After I made my tea, I added some room temperature water and the temperature was just right. I usually drink a 12-ounce cup of tea. I don’t mind that it’s small as I like the sleek size to fit in my suitcase. I will update if I have new findings. Update: June 22, 2026 I traveled with this item and used it in my hotel to make my tea, and it was hot enough. I only use it to heat up water, and it works as intended. I would definitely purchase again.

This is, by far, one of my favorite new gadgets for travel. I am a “coffee snob” and whether I am home or traveling, I need my morning coffee to get going. I also enjoy tea in the evenings. I have gotten “stomach bugs” from using those icky hotel coffee makers. This kettle is a game changer. I pack Mount Hagen instant coffee packs (see separate review) and some of my own tea bags, and have recently packed some instant oatmeal, and this kettle is awesome. It’s compact, and fits in my roller bag (actually fits in that indentation where the handle slides into the bag!) I pack the teabags and coffee packets right into it to travel (saves more space when space is a commodity). The kettle comes up to temp rather quickly (I keep the lid off for safety), and I set before I jump into the shower. When I come out, the water is hot, and I can make my coffee. Great travel companion for road warriors who like their own beverages. Also, saves you a ton of money and time. I don’t have to look for a coffee shop when I am crunched for time, and where I am paying $6 for a burnt-tasting product.

I'm pleased with this travel kettle. It is well made with stainless steel. I purchased it so that I can heat water for herbal tea in my hotel room before bed when I travel. When I use the small hotel room coffee pots, they always make my water smell and taste like coffee, so I avoid it. This kettle is a good size, like a water bottle. I like the design for my small hand. In a pinch, if I didn't have a mug available, I could even unplug and drink from the container after it cooled enough. It will easily fit in my briefcase, backpack or suitcase. It took a while to boil, approximately 6 minutes at altitude (7300 ft). Water on the stove always takes longer to boil here also, so most locations will be half that time. The only demerit, is that it has a small capacity. I first filled it to the max line (about 12 oz) and left the lid off to heat, per the instructions. Unfortunately it boiled over. So I reduced the volume the next time to around 10 oz and it was was perfect. I do wish it held a larger capacity, however this is sufficient for my needs.

I purchased this travel kettle two times. Both were returned. First item stopped working. No power. Second item, inside of the kettle is rusting. This kettle is advertised Stainless Steel. Obviously, it is false advertising. I contacted Amazon and they referred me to the manufacturer. However, there is no way to contact the manufacturer (Nicewell) through the Amazon message app. The response message refers you back to Amazon customer who are not able to help. Amazon does not stand behind this product. I have made several calls to Amazon to help me contact Nicewell and so far no resolution. Do not buy this product!

Excellent devise. I have used it in both a hotel room to make water for hot tea and using the plug in the bed of my truck. Worked great both times. I will never travel without it.

Love that this is so compact for travel. Water heats up quick and I can drink out of it no problem. I just hope it would last a long time. It looks sturdy and of quality materials. I’m looking forward to taking this abroad to test the voltage change. My last one burnt and died abroad. Size mattered to me and this one is slightly smaller but significantly better in my opinion. I just wish there was more color options. Navy is still nice though.

This dual voltage travel kettle is a lifesaver for international trips! It’s compact, lightweight, and boils water quickly, making it perfect for hotel rooms or on-the-go tea and coffee. I love that it automatically adjusts to 110V or 220V, so no need to worry about frying it abroad. The build quality feels solid, and the included accessories (like the travel pouch and collapsible cup, if included) are a nice bonus. It heats up fast and is surprisingly quiet. The only issue I’ve had is with the temperature setting it’s a bit finicky. Sometimes it overshoots the temp I want, especially when trying to keep it below boiling for green tea. A clearer interface or more precise control would make this a 5-star product. Still, for the price and portability, this is a fantastic little kettle for travelers. Just takes a little patience with the settings.

Do not listen to the negative reviews! This item is a lifesaver. I was skeptical due to other reviews but i really needed a way to hot water on travel. I used this for my 2 toddlers on a 2 week trip. This portable kettle does not keep water warm for long, it will stay at a warm temperature for about 3 hours. But with electricity available you can have boiling water to tempeture of your choice in 20 seconds. It has 5 temperatures preset. Like 119F , 121F and 159F. It has 2 screen buttons. To select tempeture and to start or pause boiling. It beeps when it has reached the selected temp. It had a smell of plastic boiling on tbe first boil which is to clean it and no smell after this. It is stainless steel and can clean easily. It looks like a flask and quality feels good. Don't pass up on this item. I had no issues with steam coming out or the kettle burning me ever. Quantity is about 2 cups of water.

Functional and quality product

It looks nice. I had to return it because it only shows the temperature in Fahrenheit and there is no way to change it to Celsius (the unit that all world using). I bought it just because I read someone in the questions said if you hold the temperature icon for 3 seconds it will change the unit but that’s not true. I don’t understand people who using Fahrenheit. !! The one star for the seller after sells service. I was trying to do a return, the return page asked me to (pay) the return label !!! It’s your fault you didn’t mention which unit does the product use, also you are using pictures for both units (Fahrenheit, and Celsius) !!! When I contacted Amazon SA they said “the seller didn’t allow Amazon to ship and return products”. In the return page the seller said that I can return it for any reason during first 15 days for free but that’s not true
