Eeasy to read
This translation is simple to read in a good way. Most of the messages are clear and understandable. I would suggest reading this book once you already know a thing or two about Taoism since you won't grasp the whole message if you don't know anything about it.

profound, beautiful
I read it often for inspiration and to remind myself what's important on this life.I already lived by some of these tenets, but others i couldnt see clearly until i read them in this book. every page has relevancy to the lives we all live. rich or poor, clever or simple. I think everyone should take the time to read this book and absorb the concepts... if we all lived this way there's no doubt the world would be a better place.

Good book
Awesome life lessons book. Do take somethings with a grain of salt, because some of the lessons can't be and to modern life.

Important for growth!
This book is very helpful and, in my opinion, important for anyone looking to grow their spiritual side.

Laudable, but too optimistic
If only the principles described here were universally applied! There is much here to consider and emulate, and it would be a better world if everyone did. Unfortunately, there are the others…

Easy read
The format threw me a bit, in the beginning, but I acclimated. This was an easy read. An ok way to introduce Tao

Great wisdom for the free thinkers
The Tao is designed to help you live a more balanced and peaceful life. You'll find some passages straightforward and others left to your own interpretation. I'm new to Taoism and i started my journey here. However, somehow every word resonated with me. I feel more connected to the world around me and i feel a bit more peaceful. I initially read through a few passages a day but now I'll go back and really study one passage everyday. So much depth in each one if we search for it.

Everything there is good about the book you already know
If you listen to Alan Watts and other similar talks about life and philosophy - you already know the whole book, the best parts and the overall idea and philosophy of it. I can honestly say knowing what i know from online philosophy talks about the Tao, the book did not add anything at all, not even a little. Nothing. It was actually a let down in a way.So, if you’re like me and you listen to Alan Watts lectures on youtube until u fall asleep, dont buy it, it will ruin what you already know if that makes sense.

Not really
I get it, what this books about. It’s not very relevant though the way it’s written. I thought it had been modernised from its former 2000 yr old scripture but seemingly not. Overall there’s about a dozen elements from it you can adapt to modernity but nothing that you wouldn’t get in a spiritual magazine or a find deep within yourself after a silent retreat already.

Beauty.
Those who know the Tao do not speak of the Tao.

Wonderful refreshing memory of the stuffiness of Oxford to oversell translation and make headaches
This book is so good - you can tell, I don't even read it.

Love this version of the Toa Te Ching
Love this version of the Toa Te Ching. It is written in clear, modern day language and is much easier to follow than older translations.I have given it four stars because it has a spelling mistake and a typo, but this has not detracted from my pleasure in reading the book.
