I’m running it as a fully independent router here in NE Phoenix, with its own WAN connection and its own subnet, completely separate from my RS700. This gives me two isolated networks — one for the house and one for our Casita rental — and both routers have been rock‑solid. I’ve used Netgear routers and switches for years with almost no downtime, and everything integrates well. I’m also adding Armor to both routers for extra protection. Very reliable setup. Netgear should update the RS‑series wall mount. These routers need more rear clearance for best Wi‑Fi performance. The included mount places the router too close to the wall, reducing range and speed. Great router, but the mount holds it back. I also added two NetGear1‑Gb switches to remove the old 100‑Mb bottlenecks in my network. This instantly improved Wi‑Fi speeds on the RS300 and RS700, especially at longer distances.

This was an upgrade to a 10 year old router. This allowed me to get the actual download speed I was paying for. Easy to install and works great

What's even more impressive is the coverage outside on my balcony, with the door closed, and even when I’m over at my neighbor’s unit (other side of building). The signal strength and range are hands-down the best I’ve ever experienced in a high-rise building. It seriously blankets the entire space with fast, reliable Wi-Fi. As for speed—wow. These are the fastest Wi-Fi speeds I’ve ever had. Streaming 4K content, video calls, and multiple smart devices all running at once? No problem. Everything is buttery smooth and lightning quick. One last thing I really appreciate is the built-in security. The advanced protection features give me true peace of mind, knowing my data and devices are safe without needing to install extra software or worry about constant monitoring. It was time for an upgrade. I setup the router two days ago and am having a great experience to date. Easy setup with no issue. I’ve noticed that since the new router has been installed, speeds have improved when accessing some of my devices, and while surfing the net. So far I’m pleased. Netgear has never failed me.

The RS300 is a no-fuss solid option for a fairly large home/property. Performance across all bands has been great, security features leave me feeling relieved, and setup was relatively easy. Has good range and intelligent channel switching. The Nighthawk app also makes setup/managing the router super easy. Form factor is nice as well and isn't an eyesore!
