Bingfu DAB Car Aerial Antenna SMA Magnetic Mount with 5m Extension Cable

Stays on at motorway speeds, plenty of wire to reach from the front to the back of our short wheelbase VW T5 and picks up plenty of stations. I would recommend this if you need to replace your current aerial.

I have an Android head unit from China which I had a dab usb stick attached to. I initially tried to use the window sticker aerial. Trouble was, the reception was not as good as my previous DAB adaptor, giving me only 5 stations. A bit worried I was throwing good money after bad, I took a chance on this. WOW! What a differnce. It now picks up 45 stations on my driveway (we are in a weak DAB area, this is better than the DAB radio in the kitchen!). I tucked the wires into the roof lining so it is completely hidden, whole install took 10 mins and the only tool I used was a butter knife to prise back some awkward trim on the door pillar (and I am confident that I would not have needed that with a bit of elbow grease). My only criticism would be that the magnet is not that powerful (it has so far survived the M4 at 70mph though), but it comes with a 3m sticky pad if you wanted a more permanent attachment.

I purchased a Nextbase DAB 350BT from Halfords to fit into my Audi A3 to give me DAB radio channels and all was well, however the signal was constantly dropping and it was not worth having the device switched on. After spending £100 on it I was bitterly disappointed and was on the verge of removing the item and returning it to Halfords. However, I first decided to purchase this external magnetic mount aerial to see if it improved the signal as the one you get with Halfords is a stick on one which fits inside your windscreen. All I can say is WOW ! The aerial is a breeze to install as it literally just sits on the roof of your car and you route the cable to your device or stereo and wham .... the job is done. The signal and reception has been improved by 100% with no drop outs so far and can have my DAB radio on all of the time. There is a problem with this aerial however. When I travelled to work on the motorway, the aerial took exception to travelling at 70MPH and I could hear it dismount from the roof and it just laid across the roof until I exited the motorway and re-stuck it when I could stop. I must add however that for the 5 or 6 miles I travelled with it laying on the roof, that I still received great reception !! I have some double sided sticky tape which I am going to attempt to make a ring of sticky pad to attach to the aerial first to see if this keeps it attached to the roof at speed which I am hoping should cure the problem as it is very clear that the magnet is not very strong. Other than this small problem, I am more than happy with this aerial.

After changing the head unit in my van I had almost zero dab/dab+ reception, I tried window stick on earthed to a pillar type, even found a window stick on powered amplified version also and then I bit the bullet and bought a not cheap powered amplified roof aerial, drilled a hole fitted as per instructions and ………. Again intermittent reception only slightly better than the window types, very very annoying!!!!! Resigned myself that I was after all driving in a mobile Faraday cage, but after a few months of CD’s and memory card music I saw this and for the money and an easy install had to try one last time.. Yes the magnet is not particularly strong but you do get a double sided sticky also for the base, my van has roof rails running down each side of the roof, so found a spot mid way down the roof rail with a vertical mount to the van roof, magnet aerial on roof and zip tied just in case down the roof rail, down to windscreen (has a small recess under the glass trim) into the under bonnet area through the firewall and connect to head unit, all done in 10 minutes, JUST TO TRY IT TEMPORARILY after the 3 failed aerials before…….. two weeks on it’s still there temporarily mounted and working perfectly. I had one drop out going in and out of a particularly tight valley that previous vehicles also did, but otherwise perfect reception. I have no idea why it works so well for me but it does and I’m finally able to listen to my favourite music stations without months of constant drop outs.

Magnets are not very strong. Not sure on seal on coax into mount. Supposed they are ok for intermittent use. Don't know about being left in though

I bought this as a stop-gap until I had time to fit an amplified aerial for a replacement DAB stereo in my car. I didn’t expect too much - reception normally isn’t good where I live and I travel across the UK. I was hoping to get the odd spot of DAB on my travels. I fitted the aerial, mounted on the roof with the magnet. The magnet is strong and held perfectly. I was astonished when I scanned for a DAB station list and a complete list came up at home. I never get many options with other cars. I have just returned home after a 2 day round trip from East Anglia to Scotland. The DAB signal was strong and stable throughout. No notable loss of stations or distortion. A really incredible performance from a cheap aerial. I have decided to stick with it rather than fitting the amplified aerial.

Utter garbage, have to agree with other reviews, no strength in the magnet, incorrect cable length in the description, and no real improvement in signal reception. Returned.

Got this to upgrade the terrible window mount antenna which came with a DAB add on for my van. Did not work well with that, but that was the fault of the rubbish little DAB unit. Now it's connected to a Pioneer DAB head unit it works an absolute treat. No issues with the magnet. Remains stuck to the roof at any speed. Remember these need to be direct to the metal of the vehicle body to work properly. So give the area a really good clean before sticking it on. It has a decent run of cable, more than enough if I'm honest, but it's easy to hide. A perfect purchase of you don't want to be drilling holes in your vehicle!

Ich war zuerst sehr skeptisch wegen des günstigen Preises. Schnell auf's Autodach und mit dem Albrecht DAB57 verbunden. Und die Antenne macht ihre Sache um Welten besser als die original beigelegte Scheibenantenne. Die Signalstärke wird zwar durchgehend geringer mit einem, maximal 2 Balken angezeigt. Dafür bleibt der Empfang dafür selbst in schwierigen Häuserschluchten stabil. Nur sehr selten hab ich jetzt noch kurze Aussetzer. Für den Preis eine Empfehlung.

Mit der bisherigen Lösung einer Innenantenne war ich unzufrieden und unglücklich. Sender eigentlich vor unserer Haustür bzw. in nächster Nähe konnte ich nur mit Aussetzern, ständiger Sendersuche :-( "geniessen". Ich habe die Bingfu Dachantenne erst mal testweise auf's Autodach gesetzt und eine Sendersuche durchgeführt. Siehe da über 100 Sender mehr. Die wichtigsten für mich funktionieren nun alle. Das Kabel konnte ich sauber durch den Dichtungsgummi auf der Rückfront durchführen und dank dem 5m langen Kabel innen auf der Beifahrerseite am Himmel entlang, ebenfalls unter den Türdichtungen versteckt, Verkleidung der Türsäule, Ablagefach vorn, sowie unter den Armaturen verlegen. Dank dem mitbestellten Adapter (SMA Buchse auf MCX Stecker), bei einem anderen Anbieter, war die Antenne innerhalb 15min. verbaut und voll einsatzfähig. Die Antenne habe ich mit dem beigefügten doppelseitgem Klebeband (vorher Untergrund gereinigt) befestigt, da mir der Magnet auch etwas schwach wirkt. Für mich ein Top-Teil zu einem Top-Preis.

Antenne funktioniert bestens. Da ich ein Cabrio habe, bei dem das Dach gelegentlich mal aufgemacht wird, hab ich die Antenne vorn über die Frontscheibe gestellt und das Kabel nach innen unter der Gummiabdichtung seitlich unters Armaturenbrett geführt, lang genug ist das Kabel dazu. Der Empfang ist bestens und ich möchte mein neues DAB+Radio nicht mehr missen.
