Bob Books - Emerging Readers Workbook | Phonics, Writing Practice, Stickers, Ages 4 and up, Pre-K, Kindergarten (Stage 2: Emerging Reader)

Excellent books for emerging readers. I bought each of my daughters a set so that they could work on reading at home with their children. This set complements what was being taught at school. Highly recommend this set.

My son loves the Bob book collection which we already had. I purchased this to go along with it and he loves reading the book and then doing the work book. I will be getting another one when my second boy is old enough.

I love love this book and it is definitely one of my favorites. It is divided into 3 sections: learning words, grammar for kindergarten, and grammar for 1st grade. There are 10-12 books/chapters under each section. Each chapter is about 6 pages. Visual: colorful with a lot of pictures. Each page is teaches different things so it is not overwhelming. Writing: the lines are big enough so a child can write it without difficulty. It is for children who already knows how to write letters but needs more practice. Activities: There are so many fun and different activities such as coloring, word find, fill in the blank, and stickers. Difficulty level: This book is great for children who ... -already know how to write alphabet letters -still need to practice writing in between the lines -can read simple words -already have some concepts of basic phonics -are starting to learn grammar There are different types of Bob books and they teach different things. For those who are thinking about buying it, I hope the pictures will help you to decide whether this book is right for the child. The book was perfect for mine.

I can’t recommend Bob books enough! We love them in our house and I’ll buy anything they sell. My kids enjoy doing them also! We also have the learning apps on their tablets!

Great books to work start on CVC words and work up from there. Was very helpful with teaching my first kid and it's helping my second kid learn how to sound out new words. I feel like this will help get ready for kindergarten.

This work book is perfect for kids who have started to sound out short words. My PreK4 (5yo) daughter has just started to read CVC (Consonant vowel consonant) words. After 2 weeks of looking/reading a phonic book this book is an excellent next step for her. She is able to do some work independently and she absolutely loves this book. I also got the Kindergarten workbook for my 4yo (PreK3) who knows all alphabet letters and sounds and the Kindergarten book is just right for her level... The Kindergarten workbook has too much tracing in the first part of the book so I guess it is good training for kids who are just learning to write the letters. The activities get a lil better at the last part of the book.

When I first used Bob Books in the 1990s, accompanying workbooks were not available. Although those students were successful without workbooks, I found that some students needed more repetition. The Bob Book Workbooks fill the Gap. However, the Bob Books covered in each workbook are not sequential. I had to work from 2 workbooks at a time, going back and forth. Look at the scope and sequence of Bob Books and what is contained in the workbooks before you make a purchase. The students who needed workbooks enjoyed them. (I am giving this review for each Bob workbook)

It's a very nice workbook. It has lots of fun activities, and my kids really loved it.

The book has been a big success with my kid. In just a couple days he has read 5 books and answered all the activities in the workbook for each book. Kids love earning stickers for each read book.

Love these books! I have taught many children to read using this series. I start with this book after a child knows their letter sounds. I don't usually use the first book in the series (the one with the alligator on the cover) because it jumps all over the place, getting kids to read words before they have their letter sounds down. So this is the book where we start. I always go through the cat and dog books then move on to phonics books (I like the Plaid Phonics series). Highly recommended. The book is in full colour and the child can write in the book. There are encouragement stickers and certificates included to keep kids motivated.

Our oldest child used this book and we found the work easy to split up daily with clear sections that can be accomplished by my son. It has the right mix of fun and work to keep him interested. Now that he's older we're wanting to buy the same book for our 2nd child before he goes to Kindergarten. We tried other books but found them to be less focused and harder to distribute daily. Prices are hard to beat on Amazon. We checked around other stores and found them to be more expensive. Costco was the exception except they did not have this version.
