Great for tracking garden hose water usage
I really like this water usage meter and the included hub. It works great, but unfortunately it didn't work as I had hoped for my needs for tracking reverse osmosis usage. This definitely seems to be more aimed at tracking actual garden hose output. I wanted to use this on my water hose -> reverse osmosis line for my water barrels, but due to the slow flow to the RO filter, it doesn't actually detect the slow flow and is unable to provide a measurement. If you put it on the end of an actual garden hose or the water pump I use on my rain barrel, the water output is accurately measured. Honestly I think my use-case is outside of the scope of this device and for that reason I am not faulting the product much.If you want to know how much water you are using during your gardening sessions, this is the perfect solution for you. If you're trying to measure your RO line usage like I am for my rain barrels, this won't work unless your RO line has a decent amount of flow (mine is on a 1/4").Adding additional devices for monitoring was also incredibly easy using the application.

Dead on Arrival
Product came nicely packaged and easy enough to install the meter and setup the hub. Unfortunately, the flow meter never worked and looks to be DOA. I changed batteries and tried everything I could think of and could not get the meter to turn on. Obviously can't recommend the product.

Great Device, Poor Instruction. I like it now.
The media could not be loaded. This 3-star review is for the RainPoint Hub and Flow Meter, priced at $54.95.The device itself is innovative and has a lot of potential, but it’s let down by poor documentation. The instruction manual creates unnecessary confusion: one page instructs users to download the RainPoint app, while the next advises using the HomGar app. To clarify, the RainPoint app does not work with this device, but the HomGar app does.Hardware-wise, there are no major issues. The flow meter consistently defaulted to liters, which was frustrating at first. However, once the phone app was set to British units (gallons), the flow meter adjusted accordingly and stayed on gallons, thanks to its bi-directional communication feature.Overall, this is a solid product with good functionality, but the user experience is hampered by inadequate documentation. Clearer instructions would make this device much more user-friendly.

Great connected water meter for tracking usage
The media could not be loaded. Easy to install the hub and then connect with the meter. Good connection overall with 2.4gb wifi to the hub, I think the hub uses a different wireless protocol to connect with the meter, which is common for these types of hubs. The hub can connect to multiple devices you can purchase individually. It is winter where I am so I tested this meter in the basement and will install outside in the Spring. The app was easy to install but confusing to find without using the QR code, there are a number of similar apps with similar icons. This is the Rainpoint HOME. Very easy to set up once installed. With everything this does, the apparent lack of integration with smart home systems and weather systems is disappointing. But as a standalone solution it is well made and works well.Likes- Easy to setup the hub and meter- Meter uses standard AAA batteries- Easy to install app- Flow visible on the meter as well as in the app- App showed flow in real time- Hub can be connected to other devices for irrigation control and water monitoringDislikes- No apparent integration with Google home or home kit- No apps for IFTTT for iot integration- No integration with weather systems

Useful!
I am not able to fully work out this product at this time due to weather disruptions. However, I've studied the product and and offer you some observations. First of all, I have some trust in the brand RAINPOINT. I use a number of their hose timers and it is a favorite brand for ease of use and reliability. So off to a good start. The meter attaches to any type of watering point: faucet, hose, etc. It is battery operated with 3 AAA batteries - most hose timers operate similarly without a problem. I am puzzled as to how to insert the batteries. I know you can pull the display away from the meter and behind the display the batteries must go. But it looks like you have to use a phillips head small screwdriver and unscrew the back of the meter to install the batteries. This hould be prominently mentioned on the Amazon page and in written descriptions. The current descriptions just say pull off the meter and install batteries. It would be very unusual to have to remove screws to install batteries. It appears you can run the meter independent of your wifi system/phone. But if you want to install the hub, you can get some great usage statistics and control your meter from your phone, cool. On the other hand, I am weary of app after app on my phone and may not use this as I bought the meter to spot check. I have a homemade irrigation system that has 8 timers and operates only one segment at a time due to water pressure issues. This doesn't appear to be a device that would measure total household water use and the app doesn't appear to run multiple devices. More suited to a spot check or just to check on a one hose run garden watering system. But very useful - last summer when I installed the irrigation system I got a huge surprise when I received my watering bill. Since we'd never irrigated before and have low water pressure, our bill was very low. But I proved you can have an astronomical bill by running a run at a time for a total of more than half the 24 hour period. So now I know to be more cautious next season, the the Rainpoint flow meter can help that if I run into usage problems. Money well spent if the launch works correctly!
