What you read from others is true. This 8 panel hat runs smaller than most (and yes..tighter). BUT, that was OK because it fit exactly like I wanted (like a sleeve ending right at the wrist or a pant leg where the inseam is at the right length).I would buy another but, I don't need anymore. HA.
