Chrome Nail Powder White Pearl Metallic Mirror Holographic

Well, I'm far from a nail artist, however, creating a chrome nail with BORN PRETTY Chrome Nail Powder couldn't have been any easier. Beautiful effect and enough product to last a lifetime as it only takes a tiny bit for each nail. Included applicator picks up chrome powder very easily and burnishing is a cinch. Powder stayed completely in its container. I only used the holographic color so far, but looking forward to using the others.

I have to say, this is not what I thought I was ordering but it will work. I thought I was only ordering the white pearl, but it came with four different colors in it. One of them is close enough to White to work for me. The packaging was damaged and one of the containers was cracked on top, but not enough for it to leak powder I'll tell you, they're kind of hard to get open because of the way they're shaped. I did finally get them all open though and I haven't really done a full manicure with him but I played around with them a little bit and they look pretty good. I expect they're going to do just what I was hoping for. I would like to address the people who said there's not much powder in there. In the ones that came to me there was plenty of powder, so much so that it was hard not to spill it when I got it open.

Only used the Chrome so far and I love it! The containers don’t have a ton of product but that’s expected since a little goes a long way. I applied the powder differently than the instructions it came with and had great results. This is what I did: 1. Prepare Your Nails: Start with clean, dry nails. Shape them as desired and push back the cuticles. 2. Base Coat: Apply a thin layer of a high-quality gel base coat and cure it 3. Apply Gel Polish: Apply a layer of gel polish in the color of your choice (I choose black). Cure it under a UV or LED lamp according to the product instructions. (I did 2 thin layers curing between each layer) 4. Apply a No-Wipe Top Coat: After curing the gel polish, apply a no-wipe top coat and cure it under the lamp. This will create a smooth surface for the chrome powder. 5. Apply Chrome Powder: • Take a small amount of chrome powder on an applicator. • Gently rub or buff the powder onto the cured no-wipe top coat until you achieve the desired chrome effect. 6. Seal with Top Coat: Apply another layer of no-wipe top coat to seal the chrome powder and cure it under the lamp.

I wanted the holo to be really dramatic and to look different over various colors, but it’s almost identical when used with a clear base vs black. Also, the applicator creates static and it’s hard to get excessive powder off.

Edit: I used the white mermaid holo powder with pink and blue highlights to create a sparkly cover beige polygel that looks great for office wear! You can use these in so many ways. The chrome powder has a gold undertone and will make anything shiny! I covered (temporarily, no topcoat) my entire multi-colored set and pretty much everything went completely mirrored. Amazing. The white didn't mirror up because I had used a different topcoat on that nail after setting the star sequin. Stick to no-wipe! These chameleon and holo powders are so fun! I did Christmas nails with half pearl and half holo to give a vaguely plaid effect. This was only one layer of each powder, no overlap. You can get a stronger effect if you do more layers of powder, but I wanted the red and green to come through pretty strongly so I stayed with one layer. I haven't used the chameleon pearl or chrome effect powders yet because I want my x-mas nails for this week! Also, I did try the holo powder initially over regular polish, and didn't get a very strong effect. The red and green polish you see here are both regular nail polish, but I DID put a UV no-wipe topcoat over that before using the powder, and the effect was stronger. I do think, though, that if you did multiple layers you could get a strong effect with regular polish as well. I use both, so I may update this review if I find good/better/best techniques for working with gel vs regular polishes. I can hardly wait to play with my sparkly powders again, but I have to wait for next weekend!

Beautiful colors

I don’t know how they look on the nails yet, but I already hated the fact that the glitters weren’t packaged properly and leaked all through the packaging, they also aren’t filled properly. But now I got glitters everywhere, expensive vacuum cleaner filler.

What I do like about these nail art powders is the thousand of effects I can create at home. They work with any colour, and they are very easy to use. They have different weights, indeed the mermaid chameleon powder looks very small (just 0.15-0.2 grams) but I can see how little I need for every nail. It was the only one looking quite empty. The jars haven't got named labels, so it's hard to understand which one exactly is the mirror effect powder These powders come in a plastic transparent jar with a protective seal. I suggest to peel the seal with the help of your tweezers and stay away while doing so, because the powders are very fine (especially #4, the pearl white). Except for #1 the mirror shine powder - which needs UV/led to creating that perfect effect - the others work great with a simple gel-finish top coat. The finish is full and intense. #1 is should create a mirror look (one application gave me just a metallic finish as I haven't got the UV light); #2 holographic/laser creates a scattered holo effect; #3 mermaid creates a changing effect (green-golden shifting colour over black); while #4 create a silver metallic, mother-of-pearl look. These powders are a huge bargain!

First time using it, I used no wipe top coat and cured for 20sec and then I used my finger to pat down the powder before going in with the applicator. I’m pretty sure it’s going to look better once I figure out how long I should cure for the best results 😋 Ignore the messy application, I used a runny top coat

The powders arrived very fast (the next day!) and were packaged very well. Every powder was packaged individually and they also provide you with the sponge applicator for every powder. The powders were also sealed with an extra patch so that it cannot go all over the place. They are pretty easy to use, I swatched them on a black gel polish with a non-wipe gel top coat and it worked really well! It is ideal for a quick manicure and you don't need any speacial tools as you are provided with everything that is needed in this kit. You can use these on top of every color you like! If you are looking for good quality powders for an affortable price this is the right choice! If you don't have gel polish you can also use them with regular nail polish: Just put a sticky base coat over your colored nail polish (base coats like yellow stoper are ideal) and seal it with a water based top coat!

I found I’m only using 1 of these powders. So wish they either did singles or you could choose the chrome you want
