Excellent quality wooden building set
Excellent quality wooden toy set. Easily a match from Brio trains set in terms of finish. My young niece loves playing with it and it comes with a draw string cloth bag for storage and a set of inspiration cards for then to build from.Wooden toys are so much better than plastic fantastic and something that can be passed down and cherished.

Great for kids
This building block set is really great. The blocks are well made, sturdy but have a really great finish, nice and smooth. They come with an interactive card for the parent-child which is great. This is quite expensive this set, however it is top quality.

Lovely toy, great quality and will spark creativity in the recipient.
We chose this construction set for our 6 year old nephew, who loves anything he can build. The fact that this is wooden makes it all the more appealing, as we feel it is a great idea to have traditional toys alongside his more modern entertainment. The set is extremely well presented in a lovely box, and a canvas bag to keep the pieces in. It really does look and feel like a premium product. The pieces themselves are a good size, although perhaps a little small for children under 4, for example. They are smooth, with no rough or sharp edges, which is excellent. They fit together simply, making it easy for children to work with. The box includes cards with some suggestions of what to build. These are quite straightforward to build, and don't take too much time. There aren't lots of designs to build, however the implied idea is that the child uses their imagination to create different designs. The pieces do fit together well, showing they have been cut to a high spec. Some of them are a little loose, causing them to fall out occasionally, but this is a minor complaint. The advertised price is currently £36.99, and a 20% voucher is available. This combination brings it to a good price that reflects the quality of the overall package. Some extra design suggestions would have been welcomed, however as with most of these toys, they are there to encourage the use of imagination. This is a lovely toy, great quality and will spark creativity in the recipient.

Fun little set but lacks diversity
Looking around it looks like this company does a number of wooden odd shape packs, this one being one you can build with for sure, in a way of interlocking the connectors with the round pieces. There is some example options to build provided, and a bag is provided to keep the bits in. The cards with examples and all the parts easily fit in the bag, meaning that the otherwise lovely box can be placed in recycling.I think there is sadly some limits to what you can do with this, it will be fun for a few times, but I think it would be a struggle to compare this to traditional plastic, metal and even some wooden construction toys. The two parts while offering some construction options, does become limited quickly. The pieces are nicely made though and I found no faults on mine.

Very nicely presented and good quality. Limited ideas and number of pieces and relatively pricey
First impressions of this Edyfico wooden construction toy set were brilliant. The wooden pieces are very nicely packaged to ensure they arrive in pristine condition and the box, although just a cardboard box is nicely presented too - would make a nice gift. The wooden pieces (beech) are engineered very well - all consistent shape and nicely edged (no sharp edges to worry about) and all are solid - they will take a lot of bashing about and even biting.Quality is very good. The set comprises 50 pieces in total - 15 round joining pieces and 35 peanut shapes to connect the joining pieces.Having 50 pieces does limit is a bit to the complexity of shapes that can be made, making this set suitable for younger users only - it's not suitable for teens, for example, who would be frustrated by the limiting ideas/shapes that can be made. The item description gives ideas of three different difficulty levels ranging from just adjoining the pieces up to make numbers, to adjoining them to make flowers etc and then finally to make 3D shapes. Some ideas are given on a few cards included in the box (I've pictured these and they have further ideas on the reverse). However, overall the number of ideas is limited and imagination is limited by the number of pieces in total too. Also the price of the set is currently £39.99 (less a 15% vouchers currently). That seems rather steep for a set with a limited number of pieces - 50 may sound like a lot but the basic dog I've recreated (see my photo) takes 17 on its own. Double the number of pieces would have been preferable. Also building 3D models is a little bit frustrating as although they are easy to put together the pieces have a habit of falling out again when you're onto the next piece and so you have to re-do the same piece several times, which is a little annoying. The fact they are loose makes it easier for younger users to slot together but the fact they are loose enough to come apart again just makes it not very well suited to more complex ideas or 3D shapes generally.I love the fact it is made out of wood rather than plastic but feel a trick has also been missed by then having the set pieces packaged in plastic foam inside (why not use a paper-based padding arrangement to go for the whole eco theme?).Overall it's 3 stars from me, which is a little harsh admittedly but I was expecting a little more from a set in this price bracket. As it is the number of pieces makes replayability a bit of an issue for older users as does the lack of other ideas (although that does encourage you to think of your own). I would also say the peanut pieces are relatively small and a choke hazard so the age 3+ rating is a little optimistic - I would estimate 4+ as a minimum and no-one older than primary school would be too interested I don't think.
