Question 4

What material makes up the outer most layer (e.g., food-based or plant-based)? I know this product is advertised as pet-resistant.

Accepted Answer

The outer material of this fiber cable is LSZH，LSZH stands for "Low Smoke Zero Halogen". It is a type of cable material that's often used in wiring, especially in situations where fire safety is a critical concern. Here are some of the benefits of LSZH:
1. Low Smoke: In the event of a fire, LSZH cables produce less smoke than traditional cables.
2. Zero Halogen: Halogens (like chlorine and bromine) can create toxic and corrosive gases when exposed to flame. LSZH cables are made without these materials, significantly reducing the toxicity of the smoke.
3. Safety: The reduction in toxic smoke and fumes can increase survival rates in the event of a fire.
4. Environmental Impact: LSZH cables are typically more environmentally friendly than their traditional counterparts, as they don't release halogens into the environment when disposed of or burned.

For the pet-resistant part: This fiber jumper cable built-in a stainless steel tube inside to protect the inner core(fiber glass) from damage like pet chew.
